Anderfels has to be at least partly inspired by Germany, for example:
Weisshaupt - german for "White Head".
Kassel is both a city in the Anderfels and in Germany.
"Fels" in Anderfels means "rock".

Elves - regardless of their religion - are seen as second-class citizens and in Orlais and Tevinter they pretty much treated like dirt. The dalish are treated like dirt which bites back. They are hunted if they come close to human settlements, they are hunted by templars because of the keepers' magic, they are literal heathens in humans' eyes because they worship different Gods (that's what a heathen means)The Dalish aren't oppressed (they don't live near anyone to oppress them), and your average person (humans, at least, I can't say for the dwarves or Qunari) don't see them as heathens, just people who live in the woods and are kind of a**holes to everyone else. I wouldn't say that attempting to preserve their culture makes them like Jews, because just about every culture in the world has done that throughout history.
As for the quarians, they straight-up ARE Romani, from their nomadic society, to their accents, to their looks (the hoods, specifically).
Not quite. Scotland is very Anglo-Saxon. Plus, it also contains strong Norman and Scandinavian elements.
Eh. *Shrugs* ![]()
Also what was with the warning from the bioware mod? Of all the things to warn about, this thread doesnt warrant it

You are likely correct, I know the language is there, I just kept myself from making a comparison as we still have actually encounter anything from there.
I mean, have we even met anyone from the Anderfels in any of the games yet?

Anders(which confusingly is how the people from the anderfels are called) but also woolsey from awakening both hail from the Anderfels

Anders was from the Anderfels but he grew up in the Fereldan circle?
Was Woolsey from the Anderfels proper? I Just understood she had been there. I do remember her mentioning never going to Weisshaupt itself or something.
The Dalish more or less come off as native Americans. Considering their history.
I'd liken Rivain as a sort of hybrid between Iberia and the Maghreb/Sahel aka Europe meets Africa.
The comparison with Nevarra and ancient Egypt is interesting as well.

IMO Nevarra is Prussia meets Rennaisance Italy. Everything else has been covered for me.

This. Woolsey never explicitly states she's from the Anderfels. Only that her orders to be the Amaranthine chapter's treasurer came from Weisshaupt. And that she's never been to Weisshaupt.

I thought Renn Italy is Antiva. Or is it just Renn Venice?

Renn Venice. With the focus being on trade and ports.

Fair enough.
Nevarra is really unique, either way. Hard to pin down.
Ferelden: United Kingdom, but with significant Celtic influence
Orlais: France. Oh god, France.
Free Marches: German and, to a lesser extent, Italian city-states (the names seem more German derived, but the culture is definitely reminiscent of Italy...especially with regard to its relationship with France/Orlais).
Tevinter: Byzantium Empire. Without a doubt.
Antiva: Some sort of weird Italian/Spanish mix. Which would make it, historically, akin to the Kingdom of Naples.
Nevarra: Navarre.
Rivain: Moorish Spain.
Anderfels: Russia with a bit of Prussia in the mix.
The Qun: The Ottoman Empire. Of course.

Ferelden the United Kingdom? LOL not in the slightest. I take it you mean Britain and not the United Kingdom formed in 1707 - because if any of the countries resembled the UK it would be Orlais but not really much at all
Nevarra = Navarre? Nah beyond the name they dont seem to have anything in common at all
