On Earth, condoms have existed for hundreds of years; before the invention of vulcanized rubber and latex, they were made from linen or animal intestines. Various plant-based methods date back at least as far as ancient Egypt. I imagine Thedas has similar methods.

I'm pretty sure it's just another mundane aspect of real life that gets glossed over in the game because it wouldn't really add anything - like having characters get the flu, or need to stop for lunch, or dry their clothes out after it rains.
