My human Inquisitor thinks using Tranquility as a punishment would make her just as bad as Corypheus. It's bad enough that it must sometimes be used as a preventive measure, and in those cases she'd always give the choice of death.

No matter what Erimond can be said to deserve: she wouldn't compromise her principles for a POS like him. He's not worth it. Also, Tranquility is already tainted by association with punishment, and she won't add to that. Removing Erimond from consideration has to be enough. It's not as if anything he says will ever come to pass. The Fade is not where the dead go.

Yes!

I am amazed at how many people think the RoT is a fitting punishment. Do they not remember Kirkwall, and how a point of contention was Meredith using Tranquility as a punishment? Tranquility is supposed to be a mercy - allowing a mage who cannot control their powers to nevertheless live a productive life. Erimond can control his powers just fine; and he used them to destroy the Wardens. And despite all their mistakes - either the Wardens survive, or the world falls to the Sixth Blight. What he did was inexcusable. I will always sentence him to death.

My Female Human Mage Inquisitor chose to make Erimond Tranquil, because it was the only outcome Erimond truly feared.  And I wanted to break him.

It's available to mage Inquisitors OR anyone else who has the Inquisition Perk that allows you to understand more of magic options (the name of which escapes me atm).

I do find the all the companions' negative reaction to that a bit much. Yeah tranquility is kinda contentious, but it's really the only fitting punishment for this guy!

True, don't need to BE a mage, just need Arcane Knowledge, which in and of itself gives bunches of benefits in recruiting agents and conversations. It's always the first perk I get.

Uh...I had arcane knowledge and didn't get the choice to tranquil him.

Plus it's the mage class hand not the arcane knowledge sign. (Plus the dialogue says you're the worst of us not the worst of mages).

Non mages can't make Erimond tranquil...for some reason.

That explains it. In my first playthrough, as a shield warrior, I was positive that I got the option to make him tranquil (I did have that perk you mentioned). I didn't do it, if I remember correctly I had him killed.

This probably has something to do with the 'How Could You!' War Table operation you get after making Erimond Tranquil.  The logic was probably that only a Mage could truly understand what being made Tranquil meant.

Why would Tranquility be an option only for Mage Inquisitors? I was so looking foward to it. :(

Because it's a political **** storm even when a mage does it.

Which translates to a war table mission where you use either misdirection on the mages questioning your judgement or they yield because a mage was giving the punishment of tranquility as it should be.

A mages crime a mages punishment done by mages to other mages while doing magical things of malevolent magistry on the mages majestic mammaries.

Personally I'd have wanted to see the ones we judged after the judgements have come to pass. Mostly the box.I really want to know if it became a table for orphans.

I stuffed him in jail and then the jailer continues to ignore him, saying there's no one to look after.

I don't have the option to talk to him either. Too busy ignoring him, I guess.
