I have a "guard-breaker" ring

but when I look at the enemies' health bar -

I can only see that bosses use guard - if any

Am I correct?

Venatori brutes and pride demons can use it.  The giant red templar guys can put guard on as well.

OK so it really only works against (some) bosses

And a few mini bosses...but there are certainly better rings to equip if you have them.

wait until you get a second superb guard ring and salvage it for 1 silk.

/cry could have gotten 1 silk and 1 iron from a level 1 common staff

Items that do increased damage to guard are about as useful as items that increase barrier damage.

Yeah, they're useful vs some enemies, but not most. But if you have nothing better, why not wear it. lol.

When the game was first released all the items I saw with barrier damage bonus were staves - which led me to believe it increased the amount of damage barrier would absorb.

Can't help but think bioware missed a golden opportunity there

The barrier strength is already dependent on the staff base damage I think.

Couldn't disagree more about barrier damage. First of all it's essential if you are a Keeper with Disruption Field, as for some reason there appears to be a very strong barrier on enemies who you freeze with it. More importantly the fire wraiths are OP in Perilous, and in general it helps with wraiths and such things.

Guard is only on a very select few enemies in MP, but a small boost to it when you craft an upgrade or something wouldn't hurt anything. Most stats in this game only go so far anyway, for example you can have the highest attack in the world but terrible critical chance/damage.

You entirely missed the point of what I said.

Try again.
