Hey all!

I WISH the romance Options of DA:2 back! (no race, strictions)

Like many other fans i'm wondering about the flirt Options. As a human/elf FEMALE im able to flirt with Cassandra (who is only into male) or Dorian (who is only into male too)

That's a little bit unfair sorry... Because we are not able to flirt with Solas as human female. I don't mean romance. I know there could not be a romance, but i mean only flirting....

I heard of plenty of people who noticed that.. and many are really really sad about that...

I love all of your games and i really hope the team could put some options to Solas?

OR maybe in the next DLC?

Kind regards. <3

Cole is just a flat out no.  The writers said directly that his mind simply doesn't work that way. They have described him as having a child-like mind, and aren't going to give him the flirt options.  Fans were asking constantly prior to release and the answer was a giant Stop asking, please.  From what I could tell, the thought of a flirty Cole creeped David Gaider out.  And he was the original writer of the character.

Even Solas (during some party banter) asks point blank if Cole developed sexual feelings after he crossed the Veil, and Cole tells him no.

@ Natashina   Okay, i didnt know that about Cole. Im Sorry. But well, it would be very great to be able with Solas as human female... but not romance him, because he is only into elves.

If they didn't apply the flirt options at first, then they won't do it now.

Wait, Solas has race locked flirts?

I feel the ideal is flirts with everyone you speak to long enough, as it gives the player more options to define their character. But it basically comes down to asking for more.

But his responses to flirting could be hilarious.

Yes I cant understand that, even if Solas is only interested in elf female.  Cassandra/Dorian are also 'only interested in male' and everyone can flirt with them...So, i really hope they make it possible with Solas.

I would have liked the option for non-elf characters to flirt with Solas, for men to flirt with Blackwall and for anyone to flirt with Varric. (Even Hawke could do that!) It's weird that the Inquisitor just magically knows that Solas is only into elves, Blackwall is straight and Varric is spoken for without asking. It wouldn't be appropriate to flirt with Cole, though, and I'm glad they don't let you try.

Being able to hit on Cassandra, Dorian, Cullen and Vivienne even though they were never going to fall for my character greatly enhanced my roleplaying. (No, really. My attempt to become the Flirtiest Dwarf In Thedas would have been seriously curtailed if I'd only been able to go for the characters that might have reciprocated.)

I'm glad there's a lot of flirt options, and I'm glad they made the changes they did with the romances. They're all very much improved. My only complaint is the gender imbalance of the actual romance options, given the choices we have. That's what I hope gets fixed if we get companion dlc. But the flirting? Yeah, sure, more is better, I agree. But I like what's already there too, if that ended up being all of it, or most. There's more than I'd expect. I miss the casual npc muck ups from Origins too, though, with plot repercussions.  I definitely don't want them going back to the DA2 system. That's the worst of the series to me, or any BioWare game, really. I liked the heart icon thing and the moving in, but they were too sparse and amorphous, too limited. This is soo much improved.

Solas for all his talk is a racist, but to be fair if breeding with humans only makes a human you might be too.

This makes a lot of sense to me and for the same reason I broke off any flirting with Sera. I play a female elf and started flirting with Sera, burning my bridges with Solas, but I soon realized it felt like an unhealthy relationship. Sera is obviously of limited mental capacity. I thought she might grow as a character, but she doesn't. I respect that, but it was like trying to date an 11 year old. It just felt very wrong.

I could have gone with Josephine, but she is rather dull and the way she dresses is ridiculous. Like some doll. Now I regret not choosing the <3 options for Solas.

I did flirt all the way with Cassandra though. She is the most interesting and attractive character to me, but unavailable to female characters. I guess I'll have to play again as a male.

Uh, I think if you play the game and interact with Cole it becomes pretty obvious even for those people that wanted to flirt with him before why he is a huge NO in a romance department.

And yeah, I wasn't able to flirt with Solas as any race other than elf. Which is weird because you can flirt with anyone with any race and any gender, it just doesn't go anywhere. Maybe Solas is creeped out by flirting alone? He must be a delicate flower inside. :D

edit: Nefla's right, I wasn't able to flirt with Cullen with my Qunari either. Cullen must be a delicate flower too.

I did think it was weird that you couldn't even attempt to flirt with Cullen or Solas as their non-preferred races. I mean they could have just turned you down the way Cullen does if you're a man and attempt to flirt with him.

The first options to flirt with Solas only come in response to him flirting with you. But he won't actually use those flirting lines if you aren't a female elf.  So that might be why you don't even get the option to flirt, he never opens it up.  Don't know about Cullen though.

I too am regretting not flirting with Solas on my elf, solely because there is a lot of extra lore and story and drama there to experience. And actually, pre-spoiler reveal, Solas is actually the kinda person I'm really interested in.

I'm sure the very first option to flirt with Solas appears in Haven and is player-initiated, it comes after him telling you of his danger staying as an apostate. The response to his flirting only came for me when I ignored the first player-initiated option. When I picked the player-initiated option I did not get his flirting.

A bug or intentional?
