Ohhm....Witcher....who doesn't want to be a hot white haired warrior who kicks ass all the time with a style?

I am in love with him since the first game and books I read. And yeah, it is hard sometimes to be a "proper" Geralt , but finally I managed to collect almost all the Cards from Withcer 1 :)

Yesss, women play Witcher - great character, great story, great game.

A woman after my own heart.

NO!  TOM SERVO YOU WERE MY FAVORITE ON THAT SHOW.  How could you have such horrible taste!!!!

The second game looked kind of cool, and to play the second game, I wanted to play the first game, because I roll that way. The price was right on a steam sale.

Then I died of boredom and tendonitis about 5 hours into the first one.

I readily admit that my experience is not the only experience. But I really don't understand how anyone could finish that first game. It's just awful.

Yes, why wouldn't we? Me and my 2 other friends (all women) plays DA, and have random conversations about it over coffee xD.

Like some have already posted, I believe most of the fandoms in DA and some in ME (Garrus, Thane, Kaidan fandoms take your pick) are comprised of women. Its not only men who likes playing girl characters, we girls also love to play guy characters its just that some guys can't accept or visualize that lol.  I played most of my ME play through as a guy shep just cause I felt its more appropriate for the story but that's just me. I might role as a guy inquisitor too for my next gameplay just to see a different point of view.  We have our own different reasons.

For multiplayers, I prefer to be selective on who to talk too especially if they are a bunch of nice people.

Visit  Alistair and Cullen Threads and you'll feel hormones oozing out of it :P

I'd also toss the Solas Thread in there as well. There are a LOT of us and the whole thing has sort of devolved into a support group, given how that romance ends and the post-credits scene revelation and... well, there are lots and lots of FEELS. That we talk about. A lot. Like, 40 pages an hour. I can't even keep up with that sucker anymore.

My favorite part of this thread is where he says (paraphrasing):

"Hey females!   If you play this game, feel free to ask me how to play it.  I just started playing, but I'm sure I can answer any questions that you might have about it because I'm a quick learner.  And because you're a female."

And all this while blatantly ignoring the female gamers who point out that they've been playing Bioware games for 15 years......

This thread wins!  (in all the wrong ways)

I'm not opposed to the idea. But probably not until another trek through Origins, DA2, and and Inquisition, and possibly another 200 hours of Skyrim.

True, shallow fact about me - the sole reason I got interested in it at all was because I thought the armor conversions from Witcher 2 in Skyrim were so attractive. It does seem to have a pretty great aesthetic.

damn, even I Don't play Total War.  That game kicks my ass.  I suck so hard at strategy games.  I can't even get through the tutorial in Shogun.

I love strategy games. I love games in general, but strategy games surface to the top picks a lot of the time. I think it's a combination of my adoration of history, my studying of ancient/medieval/black powder warfare, generals, tactics, and being able to sit back with a glass of wine.

If I have a weakness, it's twitch play. The more "twitch play" a game is, the more I suck at it.

*runs into the room* Did someone mention Alistair & Cullen?

One of my most moving moments in a game was when Allister left me after I upset him ... I kept waiting for him to return, I waited for him to return for the final battle, and he never did. Kills me to this day.

I'm on my 3rd playthrough (Non-completionist) and rolling a Solas romance.  I've played Human and Qunari, now and elf.  After 3 more I'll decide my canon and do a completionist playthrough.

Women don't play computer games. They play stupid "My little pony" games and facebook apps.

They certainly don't play all of the Total War series, Crusader Kings, Assassins Creed (any), first person shooters, own over 100 games on Steam, play driving games, own a driving forceback  wheel, or adore roleplaying games AT ALL.

That would be silly.

I just kicked my Crusader Kings 2 addiction to binge on DA:I. I'll be back tho, I'm so weak.

Obligatory: Candy Crush and Farmville don't count.

Important to note: sarcasm

Also: They might, I actually have no idea what those two things are, outside of being the names of games that don't count as games.

what kind of question is this? Especially with Bioware games who allow you to play as female (not many games do)

I know some who love the the Mass Effect Trilogy and the DA Series

If this question was asked on The Witcher forums I can imagine that the responses would be different (less females probably play those games)

I'm not lying...maybe someone will have a link, but a few years ago there was a site where guys would PAY girls to play online game with them. They made money, people used the service.  It was going for a while.

This kind of thread is so weird to me, because it feels like a lot of the stigma attached to being a "girl gamer" has disappeared since I was a teenager in the 90s, but maybe I'm viewing it from the outside now.  Back then, I went to high school in Times Square in NYC, and my friends would send me into the arcade to get their boyfriends, because they didn't feel comfortable going inside...that was BOY territory, and I guess I was well known enough as a tomboy that it wouldn't matter if I crossed the barrier.  Nowadays I see women gamers all the time online, both here and on other sites.

Well, I guess it's nice that people learn that we're really here?

All of the above. Might as well stay, there's plenty of room and one of us went to get drinks.
