Christmas is upon us and I must face a decision. I'm not 100% convinced to buy Inquisition yet. I also enjoy and miss SWTOR (judge away ). So it would be safe for me to buy the cartel and revan expansions and get some SWTOR done on holidays. But Inquisition! What do you think?

Has anyone played the Revan expansion? Is it worth the money?

DA:I will drop in price overtime while the SWTOR expansions never will. I would suggest getting them.

Inquisition is a great game, as long as you're not expecting a second DA:O gameplay-wise, so I would suggest you try that out.

As for swtor, haven't even tried out Shadow of Revan yet. Then again, I never played swtor for the pve aspect anyway.

I think DA:I is better on every level than SWTOR but it depends on what you like about TOR.

SW:TOR is a great game. SW:TOR makes a very unlikely great game; it accidentally carved itself two niches that I greatly enjoy; Galactic StarFighter and Warzones.  Leveling up via WZ is better done than in any other MMO I know of. It is as fun and as balanced as you can expect.

GSF on the other hand is closest thing to classic X-Wing/Tie Fighter series(old Pc games) that you can find in modern PC gaming. It is done with surprising amount of finesse and I love it to death. Rest of the game is a 200 million costing waiting lobby for GSF.

Storyline/Adventure/Action through Shadow of Revan was every bit as good  as I expected; completely irrelevant. Quests from TBC Era Wow. Playing WoW expansion and Revan back to back really underlines how EA has some colossal difficulties in their appproach to quest design, sense of adventure, world building.

DA:I appears to be a great game. It suffers from people designing controls for it never having used mouse or keyboard in their lives though. Some touchpad devs, I dunno. It pays to wait for a patch or a mod or something there. That's what I do at least.

If you enjoy casual PvP or want an experience like old X-Wing/Tie Fighter, go for SW:TOR.  If you want what appears to be a fine game with impossible control solution, go for DA:I.

My vote would go towards DA:I but then I didn't like SWtoR as much other than the class storylines.

Of course I haven't played it in a while and have no idea what kind of recent improvements they may have made.

Played and enjoyed both.

At this point, unless you're really excited about level 60 gear and new flashpoints/ops in SWTOR, I would say that Inquisition is the superior gaming experience. The Shadow of Revan story is not bad, and getting the new gear is fun, but Inquisition's storyline, sheer amount of content, and visual style blow it out of the water.

That said... if you're planning on buying and playing both eventually, I would go for Shadow of Revan first if you enjoy group content in SWTOR. (I'm assuming that you, like me, are not a serious raider, otherwise you'd probably have it already ;) ) There are inevitably going to be more people lining up to play the new ops and more people overall in the game right after the expansion releases, so it's probably the best time to experience the new content. Inquisition will be there for you whenever you get around to playing it. :)

This is a bit like saying You don't like Mcdonalnds that much besides their burgers and fries..

There is absurdly huge amount of class storyline content in the game, if you can find it in you to enjoy it, you are in for a gigantic treat.

I envy people who like them class stories; I found almost all of them pretty bland narratives that don't fit the world or gameplay at all. Honorable mention to Sith Warrior opening chapters, that was cool.

I haven't played SWTOR since Rise of the Hutt Cartel came out.

It still have that problem where you can't really progress in the story without doing a lot of Side Quests previously otherwise you'll be massively underleveled?

Also it took forever for my Sith Inquisitor to get a Saberstaff.

Story being about Revan who is an awful character. The writing is cringeworthy like nobody's business, and has been declining ever since the original release.

They really should've just left Revan alone. His story ended after KOTOR as far as I'm concerned.

Actually they should've just not made TOR at all. It was a bad idea from the start. MMOs are really not this company's forte and like most new MMOs they are ultimately crushed under the weight of World of Warcraft and relegated to niche F2P games at best.

Since I'm caugth up in the new swtor expansion and loving it guess I'm biased....

As for me, I can recommend the Revan expansion for swtor. It is a fun storyline to play and the new worlds added are beautiful.

If you have to choose however DAI might be a better choice in your case.

It's a bit more like saying I like 1 out of every 5 fries, and the burger is the end game.

There is a ton of class storyline content, but I have to go through all the other planet stuff for every single character which is your typical MMO quest grind. Having done it 3 times for Bounty Hunter, Imperial Agent, and Sith Inquisitor was enough for me.

Admittedly if I heard they were selling that 12x XP bonus offered with the Shadow of Revan pre-order as a separate single item I would consider going through the class stories as I hear that you can level purely off of them with that boost.

Get Halo: Master Chief Collection, so you can experience lobbies and lag in a way you've never experienced before!
