I hope the next patch(es) come out before I get the game, especially for better PC controls. Amazon just dropped the price to $39.99 for the physical copy (why the heck would the physical copy be cheaper than the download which is still at $59.99???). That was my price point to pull the trigger and get the game.
Finally broke down and ordered it

Because a lot of people prefer digital either way these days, and digital is 100% profit. Most physical sales are gonna give a cut to other distos.In all likelihood, digital is gonna outsell physical across the board.
And the game is great. The PC controls aren't as bad as people say, and it's butter with a 360 controller, if you're willing.

If it's 'butter' with a 360 controller, then PC controls are as bad as people say.
You've chosen to use a controller to play this game. Which means you understand why people hate this game's control scheme.
Thankfully, there are still role-playing games being developed today that haven't yet incorporated consoles into their plans.
But, they are a dying breed. On the verge of extinction.
Wish I could have typed this post using the X, Y, A, B, buttons. But that would be too easy now, wouldn't it...

Well i'm still waiting for PC controls enhancement. So far the only thing i hated is that you need to manuever the obstacles when controlling the tac-cam. It could be engine issue. And also indoor tac-cams. If they have the tac-cam like Origins.. then it's perfecto!

If you can tolerate the abysmal PC control you may enjoy this Console game.

The PC-UI is bad.
It's bad in two different ways: 1 It's all console menues/submenues/subsubmenues/subsubsubmenues/subsubsubsub... etc.
I hate it.
And then the party control during combat. Not convenient. Not intuitive. Not good information. Confusing. Error prone.
But: Even if it is awkward - it is playable. One just has to be a bit stubborn and persevere.
I like the game a lot, and odds are you'll also enjoy it, but the PC-UI is really bad. Frankly, I don't think amateurs or hobby programmers making a game, would have come even close to do such a bad job. So not only is it not professional, it's not even amateurish. It's a disgrace.
But again, the game is so nice, that not even the PC-interface can ruin it. I use KB&M and I love the game anyway.

Funny, if you buy a physical copy you get the game in both forms (physical and digital) aswell as the cover art. And many stores also includes some sort of DLC-pre-order-nugcrap aswell. So There's no reason to get the game digitally unless you're desperate to get the game right now, today. Personally I waited a day extra and saved $15 and got two DLC's included (flames of the inquisition arms & armors).
This is for PC. And also forgot to mention that I guess it's good for the environment to get it digitally?

OMG use a controller! Get one for 20 bucks or less. Use it on MANY games, not only DAI.
The entitlement of the PC master race is out of freaking control! ![]()
And I say that as a lifelong PC gamer who happily plays DAI on my PC with a....GASP!!...game controller!!!

Nearing a hundred hours playing, exclusively keyboard and mouse, and no problem with the UI.
Just because you don't like something doesn't make it bad.
Tactical view probably could be better, but I very rarely use it, so I can speak to that.

Some people are under the impression that anyone can pick up a controller and play the game. Wrong.
I've always been a PC gamer and my attempts at using a controller for consoles have always been a failure, so bear that in mind. I have never nor do I intend to use a controller for PC, especially when every other title utilises the KB+M setup perfectly.
The game itself is quite good and I paid full price but it's not the money that's the problem, if you are a KB+M player like me, you will encounter alot of needless issues that will hampen your enjoyment of the game. By the time you get your money's worth your experience may be tainted. However if that doesn't bother you then by all means, go for it ![]()

I'll never understand the just get a controller.
If a person didn't feel excited enough about the game to buy it day one, why in the world would they invest more money into a controller just to play it. Then what do you do with it once you're done, put it aside somewhere in hopes that there may be another bad port in the future.

Just give the game a good 10 hours before you get mad at it. It takes some learning and getting used to.

The menus are just an exercise in frustration. And the lack of real tooltips is inexcusable. That I have to open a menu to see what my abilities do is frustrating to no end.
I really don't like the UI. Yet a lot of the complaints about it are strange - like not moving by holding down a mouse button ("G" does the same thing).

Don't worry! I haven't bought it yet but I will! I'm going to play on the ps3 so I'm waiting for it to hit $20 or less. Unless of course they release a patch that fixes 99.9% of the bugs and glitches then I'll get it at $30-35

Digital costs more because they want to charge you for their costs in downloading it from them. So they add $20 per customer and call it 'covering costs' and if you think that's bad ME1 costs 49.99 to download and i can get a physical copy for $7.

If you played DAO, just don't play the game expecting any choices to matter or any other dialogue/choices to have a different outcome the 2nd way around. Don't expect to upgrade or fix up any of your fortresses or for them to serve a point. Don't expect the side zones and not main quest story zones to have any impact in the game or any difference whether you do everything or nothing. Don't expect to have slides and a telling of how your choices or lack of choices and anything you did in any zone other than the main story zones. Don't expect anything different whether elf, human, dwarf, etc as things were in Origins.
Here is what you CAN expect, expect an action game giving the illusion of choices but it's not a RPG. All side zones are like offline MMO's, tons of fetch, farm, and grind quests. If you only do the main story stuff, you can get through the game in 20 hours or less, about 100 if you do every little thing including side zones and stuff.

This happens with lots of games...physical copies are cheaper which is weird. I live in Norway and here I bough the physical copy of Civ:BE 20$ cheaper than digital copy, Far Cry 4 was also a lot cheaper and etc.
I in my simplicity thought that publishers could afford to sell digital copies cheaper than physical copies. Some years ago I thought that digital distribution would lower the prices of games.....I guess I was right in one aspect, the physical copies got cheaper.

The UI is quite bad. It's optimized for consoles and as a result it is terrible on PC. Skyrim had the same problem and as a result SkyUI is by far the most downloaded mod

I asked that when the physical price was still equal to the digital price. Digital should be cheaper.

I still can't believe people honestly say this game is 'better' with a controller.
Wanna drink a potion?
PC --> 1 button.
Controller --> button, use analogue stick, another button.
Wanna get on your mount?
PC --> 1 button.
Controller --> button, stick, button
and so on and so forth.
