Wut? I'm 2 playthroughs in and if I didn't know Sera was a lesbian before playing the game I might not have known at all. To me it seemed like you'd have to flirt with her as a man or ask that one question about Iron Bull to get any hints at all, really.

I don't think they are playing the same game as us.............

I get it. She's a lesbian. I'm fine with that. But can I go one trip through the forest with this girl without her complaining disdainfully about men and their "swords" or listening to her have a perverted daydream about Qunari women?

I don't see you whining about Iron Bull talking about women.

Which he does a helluva lot more than Sera ever does.

But he's a man so he's allowed to talk about women as much as he wants. Right?

Well of course! It's his right as someone with man parts! It can't be helped!

The only one I dislike is Loghain.

And about Sera. I guess some people are just not quite ready yet for her awesomeness.

I feel like the most interesting/controversial characters are just going to end up on top. I guess I "disliked" Viv and Sera but loved them both as characters, since they contrasted mine and were fun to debate with.... I do miss the rivalry dynamic from DA2 a little bit.

i completely and utterly forgot about velanna.  i absolutely hated her >___>  i picked her and sera although honestly, sera's not beyond redemption yet (there are still some things i like about her), but i was ALWAYS nice to velanna and tried so hard to be her friend, but she was still rude to everyone, abrasive and just downright unlikable. i hated how she talked to the other companions during party banter and she refused to admit that killing every human she came across was wrong, even when she found out the truth.

in my earlier DA2 days, i would've picked carver too, but when i did one playthrough working really hard to get his friendship up and made him a grey warden, i started to appreciate his character growth and realised that he's not so bad after all.  even when i make him a templar, i headcanon it as his way of protecting hawke from the rest of the order while still finding his own place in the world.

Its tricky, because while I may dislike Anders morals and politics I can't dislike him as a character because he is interesting and has a function in the story, same goes for Valena.

Shale on the other hand I hate for purely meta gameplay reasons. To big, run animation makes me seas sick just looking at it and its associated run noise far to loud and irritating.

So my vote is Shale, may she be ground up and used as road fill.

I agree, although I keep saying I hate sera and anders, i keep talking(complaining) about them and keep them on my team. Maybe we love hating them? I'd rather have a companion I hate on my missions than a boring one, like Aveline. At least annoying controversial companions make me feel something

I feel like the qualities that make them unlikeable and the qualities that make them interesting/controversial are incidental sometimes.

yeah because she doesn't have horns. It's pretty straightforward, but I could see how you could confuse this.

It's ok, she can grab my qunari's horns and ride her all day long. No issues.

I voted for Velanna, Anders, Merril and Bethany (as a Grey Warden). I know this may come across as anti-mage but I do like some mages honest!

These are the companions who I dislike the most due to their annoying personalities.

I nearly voted for the mabari just because of the loud barking at camp but it wasn't enough to dislike. I don't think that I've outright hated a companion.

There are none I actively dislike. It ranges from indifference to love. And I don't understand the dislike of Sera, I adore her, she's hilarious.

Wow. This list made me realize that despite having my grievances with several of these characters, I really didn't flat out dislike a lot of them. The only characters that even made my list were Dorian and Merill.

I don't think you have to headcanon that. That's... pretty much exactly what happens.
