my votes:
DAO - Morrigan. [ this is more a I love to hate her]
DA2 - Fenrris [ I think he is a fairly nasty guy, and only used him as a tank] Isabella [ hell, in my last game of DA2, I didn't bother to recutie her] and Sebastion [ whiny indecisivene little s&%]
DAI - Vivianne [ I kinda knew going into DAI what kind of character she was going be, but man, did i hate her]

Merrill is stupid and annoying but i can manage well enough, and while i adore them i can see why people would find Morrigan and Isabela annoying.
I thought i was going to detest Sera but shes not all that bad and sometimes brings a nice bit of comic relief.
Iron Bull gets on my nerves with his "ladies man" crap, like reverse Isabela but done the wrong way (she actually played it down at times, Bull starts blabbering about red heads and crap). Even still i found stuff to like about him.
So yeah, Fenris, Anders amd Sebastian are the only three where I found no redeeming qualities whatsoever and wish i could remove them from my games. All the others were a combination of either brilliant or just fine.

I don't even like Vivienne, and yet I applaud her even in this scene. She manage to outwit the Inquisitor, and that's something. ![]()
Got to love how everyone else is like "You're an *******. You're evil. or You always disagree with me. I hate you!"
While Vivienne is like "I rearrange your furniture. Deal with it!"

Oghren and Sebastian got my votes. Oghren was okay in Origins, and I even liked the character a bit. I outright hated the character in Awakening though. My main problem was that without the Warden to play therapist, Oghren was even worse than ever. I felt like I was babysitting him the whole game.
Sebastian was a character I merely found boring and a little contradictory. His behavior in DA2 already had me developing negative feelings, but when I found out he actually did invade Kirkwall post-game, I ended up hating the guy. He used his royal power to attack an already-beleaguered city in the middle of the Templar-Mage war. All because Hawke wouldn't murder Anders for him (in most of my world states.) He's now got a Murder Arrow (Murder Knife's cousin) with his name on it.

This is the scene that made me realize I loath her. This is the scene where my Inquisitor threw up her hands, said "**** it," and never talked to her again.
However, since the Nightmare revealed that Irrelevance is Vivienne's greatest terror, I'd like to think my Inquisitor got the last laugh. Vivienne (being the eternal political social climber) joined the Inquisition because she was hoping to climb the ranks, be a part of the power it was gaining, and use her new position/influence to help re-establish the Circles, the Chantry, and the Status Quo. My Inquisitor had no intention, being a Dalish Mage. I imagine Vivienne was greatly displeased to learn this, yet was powerless to stop it; thus, she passive-aggressively moved some furniture around to get to my Inquisitor. But that's all she did--move some furniture. Woop-dee-doo.
She might have moved around some furniture, but ultimately her opinions were ignored, assistance unneeded, and contributions nonexistent. (I never even took her out on the field or leveled her up.)
How do you like me now?

Anders, Carver, and Sebastian got my votes.
Although I liked Anders okay enough in Awakening, it wasn't enough to save him from that checkmark.
I tried to like Carver this last time I was playing DA2 recently, I really did try. But. I. Just. Can't. Do. It. By the time I got to the deep roads expedition, I was really wishing I could've said there was no more room on the boat to Kirkwall and he'd have to wait for the next one. Mom would have killed me, though.
Sebastian is...well, Sebastian.

From Origins: Sten (kinda boring). Also Leliana (she's much more interesting in DAI).
DA 2: Anders (crazy bastard)
Inquisition: Sera, she pisses me off. I don't hate Vivienne, she's a ****** but a strong character nevertheless.

All of the top characters are some of my favorites.
Awww.
Viv, Merrill and Sera are great IMHO. Much better than forgettable companions like Blackwall or Nathaniel.

Hey say what you like about black wall, but Nathaniel was and still is awesome.
Sera on the other hand...well the moderators don't like me talking about her so I won't say anything.

How is it "outwitting"? Who the hell cares where the bed is? It's pretty sad that she thinks you're on the level of one of those poncy Orlesians. I don't like that the scene even happens. My Inquisitor would walk in, look around, shrug and fall into bed. She has far more important things to worry about than decor- or Vivienne's ego.I don't even like Vivienne, and yet I applaud her even in this scene. She manage to outwit the Inquisitor, and that's something.

I didn't like her much at first either, but she grew on me. It's kind of nice to have someone so irreverent in a party full of really rigid stuffy people like Solas and Vivienne, honestly.

She's sitting all day and all night in Skyhold, no wonder she passes her time moving furniture around. There's isn't much to do in a fortress really.
Or maybe she's getting nostalgic, got used to playing lady of the house.
And the only reason Vivienne wins in that scenario is because the Inquisitor has limited dialogue options, and all of them is them getting pissed off. If I could just shrug it off, I'm sure she'd start painting the walls just to get at the Inquisitor.
She should take up gardening.

Yeah I like Vivienne but I hate crap like that.
Forcing my PC into taking 3 low road options isn't making the NPC witty and clever. It's making my PC stupid.

What about the rest in your game?.......... when you take only 3 of them, let me guess [Cassandra, Dorian/Ironbull, Solas]..
What are the rest doing? Sitting all day and all night in skyhold?

I take them shopping. It's just Vivienne who's a bench warmer.

The only companion I didn't really like was Anders, because he whined about the same thing on a regular basis. I can't recall a conversation initiated with him that didn't start with "Have you noticed the tranquil all over the place??" or "The blighted Templars have gone too far!"
Oddly enough, I really liked Anders in Awakenings. He was awesome then. Yes, annoyed, paranoid and haunted by the templars as well, but gifted with a sense of humor, wit and charme that few characters in Awakenings possessed. If there was an option, I would've romanced him in Awakenings.
He just became a d!ck when he merged with Justice.

(I really do wish we could more of her softer side if we were friendly with her though. Her constant guard up is a bit disappointing).

I feel like this is the sort of thread that will hurt people's feelings and end up in the gutter; please reconsider making it.
I feel like people are too easily offended and that that's not the OP's fault. Anyone who gets upset that the majority don't like their favourite character has the responsibility to simply steer clear of such threads.

Wynne was like that in DAO. The PC responses were sometimes a choice between slackjawed idiot and complete dick.Yeah I like Vivienne but I hate crap like that.

Vivienne had some good banter, but she didn't seem like a companion- with her own place in your team and a character arc- so much as a setup for whatever her future role will be. Sebastian had exactly the same feel to me.

Ugh yeah. At least I could troll her with Griffons though. The one saving grace. Morrigan also has shades of it.
Can they really give her a decent future role when she ends up as a Divine candidate? Unless she gets ousted (which might actually be amusing to watch her reaction to).

Merrill and Anders. I'm not going toget into why because people have different opinions and some get VERY defensive.
Also Tallis.
