Okay, in the City Elf origin, it's mentioned that the CE's mother was a rogue/warrior and that Duncan had wanted to recruit her to the GW's but that she was killed prior to that happening, so he's been keeping his eyes on you as a possible recruit.
Since I haven't done all the convo threads I have these questions from others that may have played (or taken more care to note details than I did).
1) What was the CE's mother's name?
2) Where did she learn to become a rogue/warrior? WHY was she a rougue/warrior, did she fight in any wars? Was she ever in an army of any sort?
3) How old was the CE when she died? (I'm asking this becuase it's made mention that she had taught the CE some of her fighting skills, and I'm thinking if she taught the CE when they were let's say 5, they'd know a lot less than if she had taught them up until they were a pre-teen or teen. And this would impact how 'useful' they were to Duncan. But there's also mention that the CE doesn't know much about mom.....(weird to me))
4) What did she do that the City Guards killed her?
Thanks!

Adaia was the name of the mother. I'm sorry I can't help you further though.

I play a female CE quite a lot, and I've never got any dialogue trees regarding exactly why Adaia died. However, I believe Duncan states that Valendrian persuaded him to leave Adaia be, let her get married and have a family. As there was no Blight on, Duncan aquiesced to his wishes and never actually asked Adaia. Thus, he would have been attempting to recruit her probably before the CE was born, or at the very least when the CE was *very* young. Similarly the age the CE was when she was killed (or even how old the CE is at the start of the game) is never really stated. I think, however, that its fair to assume that she trained the CE at least until pre-teens, as I doubt any younger would really have as much of an effect as far as techniques and talents would go.
Unless I've missed dialogue trees several times (which is always possible in this game), you have a fair bit of creative licence to work with.

I've done CE female, and male. Never ran around much as the female to talk to people, but I did as the male, and you run into some friends of your mother's but the convo option I picked didn't state much about history.
I think I'll start a new character for the CE origins, just to play through trying to find information.
If the info isn't there, it seems to be the least fleshed out of the origins stories I'm aware of so far (human noble male/female, dwarf noble/commoner, and city elf).
I'm hoping that just me having plowed through the origin story, or picking the wrong convo choices.

Well, there are a few ways you can go about this.
Your mother's friends mention that Adaia used to be quite 'wild'. They also talk about breeding, noses and the like. I think it's something a hint that your mother was Dalish, or had something Dailsh going on.
I don't remember the exact conversation, but I beileve the talk with Duncan implied that your mother had *you* and Cyrion, implying that it was after her birth that duncan came around.
I think your mother's death was recent, given that you apparently have plenty of martial training to the point that Soris throws you the sword in the female CE origin.
And I think that Soris and Shianni are your cousins on your father's side.
Later on, Cyrion will give you a dagger (rogue side) that your mother had, and it's pretty nice...I dunno. I fancy that she was Dalish in the vein that Zevran's mom was also Dalish and ran away to be with a regular woodcutter. But i am silly. And make up things.
