We have received and confirmed reports that some Xbox One players who have previously applied Patch 3 are seeing a 40GB download instead of the expected 6.7GB download. Unfortunately, an issue with the patch downloading process is replacing the entire game instead of just the parts affected by the patch. This is obviously not the expected behavior, and we apologize that many of you will have to wait longer than expected to complete this download. This issue isn't causing any other problems and once the download is completed players will have the most-up-to-date and fully patched version of Assassin's Creed Unity.

We are working with Microsoft on a solution to reduce the total download to the intended size so that you can get back into the game faster, but as of now we have no ETA on when this will be resolved.

Currently there is one known workaround: Owners of the disc version of the game can uninstall the game and reinstall it. On starting the game, the patch process will start with the correct download size.

"Rigorous quality control is of paramount importance to us" - Ubisoft.

On a side note, this patch also worsens the pop-in issues the game has had since launch.

Okay, seriously: Ubisoft, go home, you're drunk. At this point it's like they are actively trying to screw up. Do they intend to cross the line twice and try to appeal to the trash community ("so bad it's good") ?

What Ubisoft gets for trying to make Assassins creed in own spin-off of "COD".

And so Ubisoft usurped EA in a bloody revolution and proudly wears the Crown of the Worst Gaming Company.

Man feel sorry for the people who enjoy AC, I haven't played one since Revelations but I hear 4 is really good and not broken.

Even the patches need patching.

Play 3 it's pretty good too. This statement is hilarious though!

Good thing I never play Ubisoft games. I never found Ass Creed or their other titles particularly interesting, and the endless controversies they seem to generate further keeps me away.

Prepare to hit bandwidth cap when it comes to a Ubisoft game.

Can vouch for this being a very good idea. Less pain involved too!

This sucks. I know some who have done work on this game and they don't seem like anyone that would be fine with half-assing.

Ubisoft games have been large bags full of bugs and fail for some time now. The "revolutionary" Ass Creed was nothing more than a game whose defining feature was the clunky parkour with a story that was simply one huge anti-religious circle jerk with liberal history revisionism throughout the series. Since its sequel, the series hasn't changed one bit but Ubi$oft have a way of making sure critic reviews remain positive...

...that way involves lots of polish (if ya know what I mean) and lots of $$$.

All I know is, is that someone currently at Ubisoft can't sit down, has sore red lips and has their credit card constantly handy for transactions with reviewers.

They weren't cheap lessons, but the lessons I've learned from the last few years have finally sunk in:

Don't buy games until they've been out for a while, and it's fairly clear that a) they're worth it and b) they aren't too screwed up.

LOL, that is one pretty epic screw-up. I'm glad I'm still well behind on the AC series and have only just started playing AC2.

Alternatively: get games from a source that allows for refunds (like the Origin digital games for EA) and if you don't like it, get a refund and wait all the same.

This is the one big plus EA got from me, their Origin GGG policy is a topnotch idea. And you don't even have to make that decision within 24 hours if you just ask the support politely enough (had gotten a refund for Titanfall four days after I got it, way past the GGG limit, still no questions asked, such is the power of the "please").

That's hilarious.

Great to not need the patch on my system (PC, and game works fine without it).
