So Bioware is the company that takes on social issues. How long till they give us a real female figure?

I don't think they have the body of an anorexic super model. They seem pretty fit to me. How do you think they should look?
If you're a soldier, or at least someone who constantly sees combat (which is pretty much all your protagonists) you should be fit. For all we know they eat healthy. There are no preservatives (it's all naturally raised Nug meat) and McDonald's in Thedas to make raise their cholesterol.

Women who fight or work for a living don't have to have the body of an Amazonian.

There was a documentary recently in Australia on "Fly in Fly out" workers going to work in the mines. One of the people they focused on was a woman who gave up a modelling career to work in the middle of nowhere because it pays much better, and she still kept her modelly figure. I suppose it depends on a lot of things.
That being said, Cassandra doesn't look like she has the muscle mass to be an effective tank and to absorb all those 2 handed blows. Just saying.

Exactly. A quick Google of female soldier will show you this.
At least if you have safe search turned out. Otherwise things can get a bit.... bondage-y.

Aveline was portrayed more as the bulky sort, if that's your thing, though you might not see it because she never takes off her armor. Isabella frequently makes references to her strength and muscles. Casandra just happens to not be that sort of build.

True! My anorexic Qunari Inquisitor is built exactly like Olga Sherer except for, you know, that whole being three or four times heavier thing.Women who fight and work for a living should not have the body of an anorexic super model.

OP are you talking about Elves? If so then I agree that they are way too willowy for it to make sense for them to be anything other than Mage.
And it's not an "Elves are like that" thing, because look at Sera. I'm totally jealous of her body because that girl's got curves!

I'm pretty sure the generally accepted idea is not "stand there like a pell and use your mass to absorb the impacts". That's just a specialist technique for the elite class of fighters known as "dead meat".absorb all those 2 handed blows.

It's a skill in her default tree, "shield wall." And she absorbs the impacts pretty damn well. It's only a game and nobody expects much realism in games, but I suppose if you want to be technical Cassandra's a little thin to be doing that.
That being said if you look at the combat in other games it's equally as unrealistic.

16 years of hockey and 8 years of rugby and I'm still fairly thin, though I have thicker legs. It varies from person to person.

I do not think anorexic should be thrown around as though it is a slur, we should instead be talking about it as an actual psychological and sociological issue in our real non-pixilated world.
Cassandra does not even resemble this body type. What woman in Dragon Age does? Back up your claim and give an example.

She needs to do some squats.

Actually people that work and "fight" for a living don't look like buffed up meat chunks either. Its actually the muscle bound brute image portrayed in other media that is inaccurate. Huge difference between bulky muscle and lean muscle.
Who do you think is stronger a guy who works out at muscle beach with a 18 inch bicep? or your average ordinary chimpanzee with a 4 inch bicep? One of them can easily rip your arm right out of the socket.

but i play rugby
I was the same. Keeps you fit and strong, and you buff up to lesson the impacts involved (position depending).
My teenage self would be ashamed of my chubby white arse.
