All those times I suffered through the ME intro...  Minor imperfections didn't bother me as much in DAO, we don't see their face that often.  That mirror was a godsend in DA2.

Why they haven't decided to make it a standard company wide feature, I don't know

The option to re-do your face will probably be included with DLC, a'la Skyrim and Dawnguard.

Grrr.

Oh man ME2....I remember being so happy with the skip intro mod. It was so bad. I remember being all "Damnit...his nose is crooked...but I'll be damned if I go through that intro again!"

That mirror was great. (plus I could change Hawke's face by giving him some wrinkles over time XD)

Me either. It'd been awesome to give Quizzy a scar after Haven and stuff like that.

*Shudders*

XD

And no facecodes so we can't even finish off where we left off if we get one minor feature wrong.

then yoy go fukit and just go kajit.

That's one thing this game nailed. You feel like your race, mainly because the world reacts to it. Unlike Skyrim.

"We Khajiit are not allowed within the city walls".

"Really? That's odd, because my furry arse is thane of all nine holds. Maybe you just smell funny."

The bodies are fine. The hip-swaying runway strut is not.

The only one that can be considered even remotely "anorexic" is the male and female elf Inquisitor. Even then, apart from their arms, still have some meat on their bones. Human, dwarf and qunari females are fit.

I don't think it would be that bad if they didn't have human sized heads. As it is, the proportions are all wrong.

It's like someone stuck Spock ears on a stick man and animated the result.

Onlt time i felt it almost mattered was as an elf.but that was more dialog.

Ok question how would you define a Real femal / male figure?

because as we pointed out there are tons of figures out there.

Again, that takes me back to Skyrim.

Tough warrior women or wizard, you'd always strut your stuff and wiggle your booty.

It's like roleplaying a hooker.

People who fight or work for a living don't tend to be buff, but lithe.

Cassandra seems to fit this mould perfectly, without being overly butch.

Depends of their work and their body type. A knight like Cassandra or Blackwall who wear heavy armour like plate would have pretty big muscles, so will an archer (no Bioware, you can't sell me this... thing where combat archers are lithe, nimble things because it's plain wrong).

Swords are pretty light and you don't need great strength to use them, but require extensive technique to use properly. Spears and more pole weapons are easier to use and don't require big muscles either.

Lucky, I played on console :(

Heh, I used it to change up Hawke's hair and makeup for every act.

I have a feeling there might be some really technical explanation for why editing the heads might be difficult to implement... but they really should aim for that next time, because its fantastic, even if you don't use it for roleplaying.

You can't, hence there will always be topics like this one. There can only be archetypes.

The only compromise I can think of is body shaping editorial options, but that would be hard work in terms of making every individual permutation fit within the world and it's cutscenes. Then there is armour, animations, mounts etc.

Oh. *hugs*

Nice XD

Really it's just useful all around (especially when you think you're getting a certain shade in the overly dark CC (FFS WHY DO THAT) and then you get into the default lighting and you can't help but go "wat").

Remember guys its fantasy kind of like Tolkien universe where and elf can walk on deep snow without leaving much of a footprint.

If anything Cass and black wall would have messed up faces , Iron bull would be a new flavor of steak seeing as he wears no armor even vs dragons.

Unless its race specific like the barbarian in diablo maybe humans and elfs in thedas are strong enough to look slim while in heavy armor?

When people use the word "real" to describe fuller women, it kinda makes it seem like thin women are somehow fake? It gives off the impression of skinny-shaming.

Body- shaming is exactly what it is and it's perfectly acceptable here. I have seen a few logical and well spoken posters ask for more neutral animations, forms, etc without doing it, but the majority always use words like "weak" among other derogatory statements.

It's completely absurd, but that is the BSN for you. Where the common motto is: "Stop conforming to this ideal stereotype of what a woman should be, instead conform to the ideal stereotype of what I think a woman should be!"

There are a lot of articulate points brought up, unfortunately, they get lost in the mud.

There was a recent thread on this game's Reddit page that complained about all the bickering on this site.

It had a point.

OP I think you should edit your post and remove the reference to anorexia. It comes across as really dismissive of a legitimate mental illness.

Weak, bimbo, skank, twit, dainty, etc. It's nothing but internalized misogyny in line with the infamous "I'm not like other girls~" type bs.

Depressing.

I think hominid would have been sufficient Louis...without the 2nd declension genitive and/or nominative plural...in fact I have never seen that being used in the context of hominid....

Hominiade means the entire family of great apes, hominid is singular...My context is fine, as I meant that he does not understand the whole 'kit and caboodle.'

Eh if hating that stupid walk on my character (It on Vivienne and Sera? Don't care that's how they walk) means I'm misogynist then I'm misogynist.

The walk is stupid and makes me laugh at my character more often than not. (especially when her stupid ass is doing it in crestwood in the rain walking in mud. Because that's sensible.) When she does it in Skyhold it's sigh inducing but whatever. During a love scene? Don't mind it.

I tend to play males more often in this game than females because the animations. At least the males are damned consistent.

lol I don't think you're misogynist. I think it's a preference of style. Which is okay, IMO. I don't mind the walk or run, or standing animation, but I hate how my character seems to suddenly walk humped over. I would love to see consistency whether it's a "girlie" walk or a "manly" walk.

It is quite different to say, "This is how I wish my character would behave. It's how *I* view a warrior to be." Than to say, "Any woman with this body type/walk etc. is a farce of a female who can't be taken seriously."
