I want a booty on my PC characters. Gotta have that bass. Also can I get some big boobs and hips too? The guys need to be built too. Please don't make him look like he missed leg day. Legs are hot. Please make all of my fantasies come true bioware.
So Bioware is the company that takes on social issues. How long till they give us a real female figure?

lol I don't think you're misogynist. I think it's a preference of style. Which is okay, IMO. I don't mind the walk or run, or standing animation, but I hate how my character seems to suddenly walk humped over. I would love to see consistency whether it's a "girlie" walk or a "manly" walk.
It is quite different to say, "This is how I wish my character would behave. It's how *I* view a warrior to be." Than to say, "Any woman with this body type/walk etc. is a farce of a female who can't be taken seriously."
Consistency would be better true enough. It bouncing too and fro just makes it worse. It just looks half assed. Even if I hated the walk at least if it was consistent I could go "well the devs made a female only rig. I might not like it but they clearly put effort into it." But she just piggybacks on the dude animations during cutscenes. (which don't even fit her frame ends up looking like she's riding a damn horse.) It'd also look less like her walk is just there for eyecandy while you're playing.
Though true there is a difference there. If someone wants to have a feminine lady with hipsway in command? They should be able to. That said it should also be a choice. So people can play their girly girls (hell I have a few) and others can play their more rugged one of the boys type ladies. (My lady qunari sitting with her legs widely agape? Perfect. My human noble mage? Uh...not so much no.) It'd be great if we could use masculine and feminine animations depending on what we pick in the CC instead of the game just deciding for us. Even if it's only two choices there's still choice.

Another indication of how strange this community is. Cass isnt anorexic, she's just in top condition. While Leliana is a bard and lithe.

I think it's fine. I haven't heard any complaints from people about the way that pirate women dressed, showing off her curves and low cut cleveage. Then again if you play the male of the story. He's ripped to the core. It's a fantasy game. You expect them to write people how they are in reality, rather then in a fictional world. I just don't get it. Why.
I'd rather play Hawke, a man who looks like he could bench press an animal. Looking slender, and ripped. Then playing an overweight person just for "reality" effect.

Anorexic supermodel?
That's a huge exaggeration.
This is a fit woman who works out as an athlete and NOT a bodybuilder (two different things.)

So yeah.
It's pretty accurate to me.
Maybe could do with more meat on the arms.
But other than that?
Yeah.

Women who fight and work for a living should not have the body of an anorexic super model. Time to be realistic on how a womens body would look.
I dont understand why so many people whining about Woman's body in video games.
Leave the games alone and let the companies do what they want. This is video game Industry, not some wedding TV show
or something. If you dont like, then simply dont play it.
RPG-Fantasy genre dictates nudity, full armor, mature content and more.
BioWare not going to change it because of simply you asked.
Video Games meant to be fun, not some real life garbage.

Weak, bimbo, skank, twit, dainty, etc. It's nothing but internalized misogyny in line with the infamous "I'm not like other girls~" type bs.
Depressing.
I am a pretty small woman and as a double whammy, I am one of the dreaded "girlie girls". So, it's always bunches of fun to come here and read how I could never be taken seriously as a leader or that it would hard to respect me because I have the body and arms of a fourteen year old or as an anorexic, as is the new buzzword.
I wouldn't even get picked last for Warrior B-Ball. I would be forced to sit on the bench with all the other mages pretending not to care that all the "cool" kids don't take me seriously. And while my noodle arms (yeah, I got 'em, what of it?) never shield bashed anyone, nor has my weak, boney body ever whirlwinded a large broadsword, I do all right. I would hope that people respect me in deed, morals and merit and not because I "look" as though I could slaughter someone with my bare hands.
I would love more variation, as I think most would. Until then, I am pretty happy that I can step out of the new "ideals" people have set up for what a strong, confident and respectful woman should be and play as someone who is just "average" (to me, anyway) and completely maul a bear or take down a dragon. Good times, I say.

You can ask for more body diversity without the body shaming.
Because really, all it looks like here is that some people's jealousy is showing.

Yeah I have to second this. Those arms are tiny, no muscle whatsoever. Fighting and training for 2+ hours every day makes you build some muscle mass even if your nutrition is all over the place.

It's a video game, it's meant to be entertainment, not realistic.
Not saying that means "anorexic" type either.

It would be cool to have different body types. I'd want a more bulky character for a warrior and a slender person for a rogue, for instance. It would just add a little bit to making your character feel unique and more in tune with their class and background. Also, since it's a choice, nobody gets forced into anything and everybody is content with the system.

Yep. It wouldn't be too hard to implement, and there's clipping in cutscenes anyway. A couple of inches here and there wouldn't make much difference.

BioWare should just model female bodies over MMA fighters and Boxers in the female divisions.
They have beautiful muscular bodies, so it's a win win.
Bodybuilding is a completely different sport, so don't even go there.

Haha fine, but when your large muscled arms have to reach inside a really small hole to retrieve a device which could save all mankind, don't come crying to me! I'll be sitting with all the skinny noodles watching the world burn!

Btw sexy walk on characters != misogyny , since in this case i don't see the appreciation of a certain way women walk a case of 'i hate or distrust women' lets not dilute an important word and its meaning plz. At most its sexism , i doubt Dev's hate women
The walk was most likely a case of feedback from mass effect 'she moves too much like a man'.
As for the arms are we talking female elf or female human? female elf its kind of hard to have a leg to stand on in that arguement as its a fictional race , they could potentially make it however they want.
As for the human female i don't really notice much difference , again if we want true realism , female body design would be completely different. Its just a case of using a single body form to represent all females/males of all classes. The same complaint would arise if female mages/rogues were of Diablo Barbarian Design because they use a single body for all. Its a case of what would people prefer?

It's a by-product of everything having to be "bigger" and "badder." E.g. He's not just sexist, he's a mysoginist.
That word isn't just insulting, it's disrespectful.
I don't want an L, I want XXXL...

I'm all for body diversity (though I get that adventurers probably would be on the fit side).
The title and OP are silly at best and insulting at worst, though. What makes the waifish elf any less a "real female figure"? There are women who look like that (minus the pointy ears). Don't denigrate them to make yourself feel better. Also, anorexia is a serious disease; tossing that word about is foolish.
Variety is good, though. Variety in NPC is something I would hope for in this-gen as games evolve (just from games in general). I'd like it if every NPC didn't have the same few body types. Adventurers might generally be fit, but why does everyone in the world look like us? Tech limitations, I know, but someday....
