Final picture, as you can see you can have female with fighter bodies and still look pretty hot.

I was about to post these, thanks. One thing you must not forget is that there isn't a lot of strength required to wield a sword efficiently, what muscle does, however, is making your body sturdier. There is a reason why boxers have such a strong core. Take a really hard blow to the guts with little core strength and muscle to dampen the strike and it will result in major internal injuries. Also activities that increase your muscular strength make your bones considerably denser which decreases the likelihood of breaking them during a fight.,

Unless you're Mark Hunt.

Well, tbh, that is debatable. I don't find that sort of thing attractive. At all.

I am also not sure it's the same thing. Just because those women "fight", doesn't mean that a female warrior would automatically look like that. Certainly, not all male warriors look like the male inquisitor. On average, male warriors weren't that large-- at least, today's media isn't a very authentic image of a genuine medieval warrior.

Also, to be fair, I don't find beefy muscles on a man attractive either. It just isn't my thing.

I'm fine with the current body models.

I just can't with the noodle arms.

I'm begging you BioWare. Lose the noodle arms.

Unless you're Mark Hunt.

That guy seems to have plenty of muscle, just covered by a layer of fat.

So am I, but like you said, except with the arms. Legs etc. look like those of someone who does squats and other back and leg exercises fairly regularly, but completely skips the upper body days.

Body- shaming is exactly what it is and it's perfectly acceptable here. I have seen a few logical and well spoken posters ask for more neutral animations, forms, etc without doing it, but the majority always use words like "weak" among other derogatory statements.

It's completely absurd, but that is the BSN for you. Where the common motto is: "Stop conforming to this ideal stereotype of what a woman should be, instead conform to the ideal stereotype of what I think a woman should be!"

There are a lot of articulate points brought up, unfortunately, they get lost in the mud.

It reminds me of when there was  that vote for FemSheps official appearance and all the self-proclaimed champions of FemShep turned extremely nasty and venomous when they thought FemShep was going to be Blonde.

Well I could post a picture of Roy Nelson too :) Point is both Mark and Roy are what your lay man would consider fat, yet they're undeniable tough, and incredible strong.

Most probably because most of the "warriors" comprising of medieval armies were starving peasants conscripted into their lord's service. They're hardly the formidable sort XD

My point is they have muscle, their amount of fat doesn't matter in this discussion unless we're talking about bodybuilding. Have you ever seen powerlifters? Lots of muscle, they can deadlift 1000lbs but they're very fat. Fat as in 400lbs @ 6'3''.

Aye, I know, but a general misconception is that to be a warrior/fighter you have to look like a bodybuilder (not saying that you're saying it, just a general misconception).

Hell this guy, was at one point (and to many still is) considered the greatest fighter of all time. But back to the topic, like those pictures of Gina and Miesha shows, you can still look smoking hot and be an effective fighter.

Be that as it may, the romantic notion of a large, fierce eyed knight in shining armor, muscled and tall was just that-- a romantic notion.

Henry the VIII was around 6'2 and was considered a giant among the men of his time. There are a few exceptions to the rule, as even in today's society, but in average, men were rather small compared to today's standard. Even a highly trained, armored warrior didn't enter battle without contingencies.

Either way, it's unfair to show a muscled woman who trains for today's sports and use her as a placard to what all women warriors should look like. However, I think that poster was just showing that you can be muscled and attractive, which I completely agree with. Just not attractive to me, personally.

No one is saying that all warrior female needs to be bulky or look like models. But don't pretend that most MMA women fighter look good in swim suit beside  a few exceptions. I've seen most UFC gala this year and 80% of the women look like medium build men.

I've been in the military for 3 years and the majority of men and women look nothing like the bodies in this game. Men are average build in muscle not super rip or body builder like mmo games like to portrait them. Women are not skinny but not curvy , they lost the curves and fat with the training. Obviously there are exception, super beef guy or super hot girl  but that is generally the exceptions, atleats in the military.

Even for men when stationary you beef up but when u are in away in combat u lose your muscular mass rapidly.

Why do women always ask to be portrayed "realistically" but you never hear any men asking to play as a fatty?

I'm ok with the frames in the game. but i love dreamgazer's suggestion of sliders for bodies in upcoming games.

but... instead of taking ~ 8 hours to create my first character, it'd take 16... so maybe not. LOL

People, you have to show an image of a man who is worthy of the QuIzz. There is only one man worthy of that role in this world.

Diet and medicine matters, man.

You'll see all kinda crap even today in families in USA that needed to eat the gov'ment cheese or whatever growing up.

My older brother and I are short shits, everyone else in my family is tall as their genetics will permit.

I was impressed by the diversity in character models in this game. Four unique racial designs and both genders for each seemed pretty good. I also thought the ladies were nicely thickened, elves aside, compared to past BioWare games. (To be clear, I do like the spidery new elves.) Bringing real world bodies into this seems silly, as real world bodies are as varied as real world faces. You can't really judge someone's capabilities at a glance.

I don't think some people will be satisfied unless we are able to customize body-type as well as facial features. That would be a cool feature, but it might mean sacrificing other options, like the various racial selections some hold dear. The only game I've ever played in which this type of thing was well done is Top Spin 3, a tennis game. It had an excellent character creator. Of course, it is a much simpler game than DAI. Still, it would be great to see an RPG finally give us that level of customization with our characters.

I vote for stick men/women. then noone can take offense.

What if they actually id take female design from someone IRL? i mean people's bodies do vary.

Same when people complain about boobs , you know somewhere out there is a woman with decent sized breasts. Its weird how certain area's of gaming have turned basically into body shaming.

Besides small arms i can't see any other major issu but then again somewhere out there are women with 'noodle arms' i dunno , seems like a case of 'we can never get it right' when designing females

Haha fine, but when your large muscled arms have to reach inside a really small hole to retrieve a device which could save all mankind, don't come crying to me! I'll be sitting with all the skinny noodles watching the world burn!

I skipped past the less flattering parts of Willie's character. :P

You know what sucks, the sword she is carrying looks awesome, its like her signature weapon. But its so low level it gets replaced almost immediately.

But anyway yeah, i agree.

Yes, well-- if this is the case, I'll just be hiding behind Ryzaki's big armed character. :P
