Im wondering if they help or hurt the game.
Have any of you tried new Nvidia drivers?

If you mean the 344.75, then yes they hurt the game (can cause crashing) but if you use the 344.80 hotfix they help, and the game runs lovely.

I just downloaded 347.09 beta I'm going to install them now.
Edit: I did a quick run with just the new driver installed nothing else and have seen a significant improvement in framerate. For me Redcliffe is much better now also I'm using windows 7 pro.

I have installed and tried out the 347.09 beta drivers. I have SLI 980s and can say I have gotten a 50% performance improvement in populated areas like towns and haven/skyhold.

Yes better FPS on 347.09 even on a Titan GPU. No CTD but I haven't had that since patch 2.

skyhold wasn't that bad for me before what impressed me most was how much better Redcliffe is now.

I had lag with all the hub areas. I think they still need maybe one or two more patches before it's perfect.

Hmm, there's no apparent change going from 344.75 to 347.09 for me. Runs just as well as it did before.

Sure you read the release notes for 347.09 beta?
Open Issues in Version 347.09
Windows Vista/Windows 7 64-bit Issues
Single GPU Issues Dragon Age Inquisition runs poorly (stutters) on NVIDIA hardware. [1588023]
Nvidia seems to know about the poor performance. Hopefully they can do something about it. And Bioware also, if it's game code related.

There's an article comparing windows 7 vs windows 8.1 for battlefield 4 which uses the same engine.http://www.hardocp.c.../1#.VJMOdntUWWM

I installed 347.09 beta drivers. Game performs slightly better, but I had no big issues before with 344.75. My GPU is GTX770.

Two GTX 970's. Tried both SLI and with just one GPU, but I didn't notice improvement in either scenario.

Ditto. GTX770, 344.75 driver, no issues. (I used to be willing to load beta drivers, but got burned once too often.)

I have one GTX 970 and noticed a massive difference while using 4xmsaa or even 2x.

Running it in windows 8.1 didn't give any frame rate boost, but overall the game played smoother, also less erratic framrate overall.

Yeah, game ran fine for me pre Patch 2 on my single 970. Post Patch 2 the game has terrible stuttering and hitching. This beta driver didn't do anything to help, but at least it seems like its a known issue on Nvidia's end. Now the question is whether it'll ever be fixed by BioWare or Nvidia. Given the amount of support and attention the PC version has gotten from BioWare thus far, I guess I should hope Nvidia can fix it.

This is really weird, how come I've gotten 10 extra frames on 2xmsaa and now easily run it with 60fps, on 4xmsaa it drops down to 43-60 in some areas, a massive improvement then pre beta patch.

Running sli 970 in windows 7 showed no improvement.. Still laggy and low framerate.

Having moved to Windows 8.1 myself recently I would have to agree - the overall framerate benefit from switching is probably only 5%, but the real benefit lies in how little the game stutters now compared to Windows 7. ![]()
