Hi all! I'd like to share how I've managed to get around the RNG fairly successfully in my most recent playthrough. I'm aware that a great many players have been using The Cradle of Sulevin as a schem farm. It works, however I've found a faster method and location which doesn't require loading out and back in.

In Emprise du Lion, just past the Drakon's Rise camp is Valeska's watch. You need a key which is found using the loot sonar, but for all you silverite farmers, the location should be familiar. There are a couple of nearby fade rifts but neither is required to get in out of the mini-dungeon safely. Deft hands, fine tools perk is recommended.

I start at the chest near the spot where you obtain the key. ALWAYS leave 1item remaining in each chest you encounter, even if it contains something you want. You'll be rerolling the chests quickly so don't worry. It will show up again. I clear the dungeon, exit back to the 1st chest near the campsite and reenter. It's a small dungeon with all 6 loot containers fairly close. Just run through, check all chests, return to the nearby campsite chest and repeat. I've found nearly all the noteworthy T3 schematics using this method. As it is a small area to cover, the chests refresh very quickly, so it is a pretty constant farm.

I've listed my spoils from this method and here is what I've found so far:

Superior Prowler Coat?
That sounds very good. I will be trying it when I have a chance.

Did you get many T2s from doing this? I need dalish warror armor to add to my collection.. even though I have stronger already, purely because I am working on armor for the wikis so need to get images.

So far, every schematic I've found in Emprise has been T3. Sorry.

I've just tried it for a little while and I must say that I really liked it. Six chests relatively close to each other (1 outside the dungeon and 5 inside) and the most important part: No loading screen to refresh the chests!

I've never been a fan of the farming methods and I never invested much time into them, but this one is definitely much faster than the other alternatives and might get me into farming after all.

Quick update: I came across an annoying little wrinkle. It seems as there are multiple schems which have different meshes but the same name in each class. I thought I was getting duplicates, but no. So, some craftable items do indeed share the same name as other completely different items. I can't take SS's on the 360, but I'll try to find a way to differentiate on the master list somehow.

I realize that a forum thread isn't the ideal place to try to make a database, but bear with me.

Does this still work or did they patch it?

Emprise is level 10+ area. IIRC the dungeon has level 12 mobs, so it should be fairly easy, even at level 10.

It still works. But, I don't have the patch, so I can't say if it works with recent patch or not. Someone mentioned they added LOOT ALL function to PC. Not sure if it's the same on consoles as well.

It worked for me today on Xbox One (which is supposedly patched). While the mobs are around Level 12 in the dungeon, there is a hurlock that can take a long time to kill. It's possible to kill everyone if you are level 10-12, but you will need good gear, and a strong specialization doesn't hurt.

Thanks, chubs.

I was lv14-15 for most of it. Its hard to get to the spot without leveling up at least once.

Still updating as I find new schems, but I think they are running dry. I have a seperate save in place just for cataloguing whats here. I think as patches come, more might show up. Once I'm fairly certain I've bled it dry, I'll redo the list and try to get it on the wiki. Even if they patch the chests, we'll at least know whats in game.

Thanks! It works great! This only cements Emprise du Lion as my favorite area. Suledin Keep is conveniently nearby to sell any excess loot too. Awesome!

Just an update: I've found all arms/legs schems for each variation of armor found on the list. I'm stuck with just my smartphone atm, so editing the OP will have to wait until I'm back from Xmas travels.

I've run similar tests in Sulevin and come across pretty much the identical loot table for schematics. But, I'm starting to think that I've sucked it dry. It is at a point that I am only finding the odd haft every few cycles.

Still at it tho. Once I'm reasonably sure I've emptied the cupboard, I'll finalize the list and move on.

If any of you fellow intrepid farmers doing this method comes across something noteworthy that eluded me, please share and I'll add it and do my best to confirm.

Thanks all and happy holidays!

That's a nice heads up, thanks.

If I may ask, are you sure you got "Masterwork Etched Greatsword Grip" this way?

From what I've seen this is a War Table Operation Reward, and depending on your choice on one of the main quest (Here Lies the Abyss) you may miss this Operation. I've been trying to get it through chest farming for a time now without success.
