It's retarded. There, I said it.

Shield and sword tanks just turn their (unprotected) back towards the enemy and just stand there doing nothing. Squishy wizards run straight into the middle of the fighting, as do archery rogues.

You can't give them complex orders.

The orders you give them get reset if they get hurt (move away from the fire, *gets hurt by fire* "nope, I like it here, it's warm", *dies*). You have to actively take control of them to get them moving out of a bloody fire.

The AI is completely unable to use some abilities correctly (first and foremost the toggled abilities, like Shieldwall, Blizzard, etc. pp.). If you want them to use it, you have to actively take control for the entire duration that you intend to have them used the ability, because they will immediately start using something else as soon as you leave them to their own devices again.

They do not use any tonics/grenades on their own (or maybe in this case I'm just too stupid to find out how to enable the use via the "tactics" menu).

AI needs a drastic overhaul!

Even better, give us back a real tactics menu like in DA:O or DA II.

Yep, I would have to agree with the ai. It's kind of hard for me to take DA:I very seriously when my own companions are a bunch of useless idiots. Sigh, I just don't know what to say anymore. I come to the forums every few days on my time off hoping for some good news regarding a patch that will transform this game into what I was convinced it was going to be in the first place - and nothing, again and again, nothing.

I agree, it makes the combat horrible and it's a chore even on casual.

I wish the party members would stand still. If my character is in a conversation, the other team members walk/run around.
