They're different abilities with different pros and cons. Throwing Blades is good for sundering armor and if you have a high crit chance, it will return most of the stamina cost (thanks to Looks like it hurt). It have good synergy with the Artificer passive, Opportunity Knocks, that reduces cooldown on crit. It's also usable at medium range which is handy as a DW rogue. Consider using it with Poisoned Weapons+ for a substantial damage boost.

Shadow Strike is a melee detonator, has a nice knockdown, and reduces your other active cooldowns. It has good synergy with the Tempest tree and is also useful for Assassin. I would skip it as Artificer since that spec has enough cooldown reduction.

It's up to you to decide which fits better for your build.

I use them both..

SS is nice, think a HADOKEN upercut from stealth, which knocks the average down, or stuns, then TWIN FANGS as a follow up while they are down for big dmg.... while they are cooling I follow with throwing blades at close range to finish any armor left and do decent dmg.

I thought the cooldown reduction was broken on SS? Or is that just in the MP?
