- on his Properties page:
    - give him an int_variable "NX2_NO_ORIENT_ON_DIALOG", set it to TRUE ( or "1")

This is also great for making an npc seem dismissive or too busy.  :D  They don't bother looking at the pc when talking to them.

I'm stuck on trying to do what you said, Kev. I got the variable screen open, but can't figure out how to input what you told me to. The toolset manual explains what variables are, but there is no step-by-step proceedure.

click creature
look at his properties tab
scroll down to Scripts
click the Variables field
click the "..."
click Add
click the Name field
copy paste in "NX2_NO_ORIENT_ON_DIALOG" ( without the quotes )
click ValueInt
type in "1" ( without the quotes ) hit Enter

then OK

- when the moon is in a third-quarter on a Wednesday, the NPC won't turn to face PC if talked to ...

Okay, got it. Thanks guys. Now he's just sitting there morosely pounding mead, ignoring the player. My dungeon is gonna be rad!
