Beat the stuffin' out of the Ferelden Frostback (Go-go-Gadget Focus powers!). At the end of the fights, one of the Dragonlings that I hadn't finished off earlier in the fight ran up to momma's body and just...sat there without attacking me. Little dragon orphan kinda killed the victory high...
Was this a bug, or just done to make me feel bad?

I've never had that happen, but it'd be awesome if it's scripted to happen. I one time killed a dragon, but Varric or Vivi ended up giving the final blow, and it's head teleported way away from where the dragon fell to land next to them.

Fade rift ability at the end of the dragon fights takes care of the adds, as well as any possible guilt. No muss, no fuss! ![]()
That being said, I always felt a little guilty when my Long Shot went through my target and into any innocent rams/nugs/hallah that got caught in the crossfire.

The best scene in the Witcher 2 is Geralt very sadly killing a dragon, and he's a professional monster slayer.
Agreed, very good scene indeed. It is cool that he might have killed "one of the last dragons" although I am sure no on really believes that.

I didn't play the Yorveth path yet, but I had a detail spoiled for me that makes it even more significant, if I understood the spoiler correctly.

This never happened to me. But can I just say how much I hate dragon fights? Not because they are hard but because of how realistic they are... Especially when you damage the dragon's legs she falls and then she kind of... cries. It makes me feel like I'm killing a real animal, which is horrid.

Yep. If I ever decide to play the game again I'm not killing any dragons. Bull can suck it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I don't know if realism is a good thing here, but it certainly feels less epic and much more like a very difficult chore.

I just killed my first dragon today and I felt awful about it. They look so real and they are incredibly beautiful. I don't want to kill any more of them; I want to just watch them.

I would feel bad about killing dragons if they didn't attack you on sight. I mean, it's a shame because they're animals and they don't know better, but it's not like you can tranq and relocate them. The Fereldan Frostback is like, 100 yards away from Redcliffe. Maybe they could put in some dialog next time talking about how menacing the dragons are to the local population or something.

Probably nugs and hallas and fennecs. They should come before dragons as they are always caught in the crossfire.

Feel bad about attacking the dragons that attack you? Try killing the Highland Ravager which is sleeping when you find it and keeps sleeping if you land on top of it. Now that makes you feel like a douche. Oh boy and then her babies come running in trying to make you stop hurting their mother.
There's part of me that gleeful about murdering them because of the sheer frustration the fight brought me and then there's the part of me that mourns my lack of decency.
... And then there's the part of me that wants to celebrate getting the "Keeper"-schematic by murdering a couple more to make sure I can dye it the right colors.
