Hey there.

 

I've started playing as a mage and as soon as I got to Skyhold I immediately decided to become a knight enchanter.. just because I've seen during a few multiplayer matches that the arcane warrior seems to fit pretty well to me.

 

But now it looks like I can't play as a knight enchanter Why? Because as soon as I get all my skills the game just freezes!

 

I tried it three times by know. I got one of these amulettes to resett my skills, used it, pickt all those skills I needed (16 skillpoints) and.. yeah.. as soon as I close the menue the game just freezes for no reason. I also noticed quest markers inside Skyhold. There are two "!" on the map, right where those other two spezialisation trailers have been. They are not there, but they are still marked on my minimap.

 

Well.. while I was writing this posting I've tried something else. Every time I only set one skillpoint, closed the menue, looked if everything is still running and if so.. did it again.. so long until I got all my 16 skills. It worked for a few moments. I could set all my 16 skillpoints. Then I turned around, walked through a door and... the game froze.

 

This happened never before and as long as I don't reset my skills everything works just perfectly. It's also not the first time I've reseted my skills.. just the first time I did it so I can put some points in a new spezialisation (my first character didn't get one ).

 

Does anyone have an idea how I can get my spezialisation as knight enchanter? Maybe someone else had the same issue and knows how I can avoid it? I would appreciate your help, guys

It's not necessarily a Knight Enchanter bug.  It's a bug with the Amulet.  The trick after using the amulet is to only choose a few spells, then hit the Y to Apply button.  I've actually backed all the way out of the menu and ran around a bit to make sure it won't freeze then I go back in, select a few more spells (never more than 3), Y to apply, back out, run around, go back in.  Rince, repeat until I've spent all my points.  I've respecced about 4 times already using the amulet and it hasn't froze since I started doing this.  It only freezes if you spend a bunch of points at once.  Hope that helps.

Oh, really? I haven't noticed that. I did use these amulettes a lot of times on Varric and Cassandra and never had any trouble. It's the first time I used one to assign most of my points to a spezialisation tree.. that's why I thought it might be related to the knight enchanter.

 

I just tried it again, but this time I saved the game before I backed out of the menu. This time I was in the hinterlands and for some reason everything was fine until I used the knight enchanters close range ability.. after I've used it the game froze once again Still, I have saved the game and after restarting Dragon Age Inquisition everything worked.. I think.

 

I was almost about to give up trying. So.. thank's for your reply and advice I'm still concerned that the game might freeze at any moment now but it looks good so far.
