This poll's purpose is to satisfy my curiosity of the potential stats, it is not here to prove or disprove anything.

Does this thread have the recipe for disaster? Maybe. Does it need to be? No. For the sake of stats, let's keep this civilized.

So I've duplicated each voting option twice. One for females voters and one for male voters.

I think bringing up sexuality breaks the purpose of being diverse, if that makes sense. Ruins the attempted normalcy.

I don't care who's banging who, so long as they aren't preachy about it. They got that way with Krem and Iron Bull, but they didn't force my character to agree with what they said, so I didn't care really.

Aside from that I think they handled it well. Dorian's thing is that he's a unique look into the Tevinter, not that he's gay, and when it finally came up, the story was genuinely sad. Iron Bull was... lol, special. But it makes sense that he's... friendly. With everyone, being a Qunari spy and all.

You have to fit in and it's already hard for him to with other races, being a big mean looking Qunari. And none of that sentence was a sexual innuendo, lol. I just mean that he's not exactly inconspicuous, so making friends is important.

Anyway, they didn't get too preachy with it, and that's all I really ask.

Eh, I don't really get the point of this poll.

Queer people exist and ought to be represented, end of story. Whether it makes some people uncomfortable is utterly irrelevant.

Same. Although, I like the inclusion of the "out of sight, out of mind" option since that gets brought up a lot. Even from actual queer people, for reasons I'll never understand.

Irrelevant or not, I enjoy knowing how people feel on certain subjects. That is the purpose of this poll, to satisfy my curiosity.

Fair enough. I don't really wanna know how many homophobes we have on the boards.

I chose the "yay ghey" option, for what it's worth.

I think you have put too many options there, there was three that fit to my opinion since they were too similar. "Yes, I strongly believe their games should portray all sexualities", "I like the diversity Bioware portray in their games, this includes sexuality" and "I througly enjoy knowing that there are non-heterosexual characters in the game". I picked diversity option in the end but I could pick every option of those three.

Agreed. I also ended up picking the diversity option though because I felt it went more into depth with why it's so important.

Also the one about being fine with gay characters but not liking gender-gated romances can apply to people of all sexual orientations. Disappointed my male couldn't go for Cullen.

I like that certain characters are gated off personally. People are who they are. Sexuality shouldn't be treated as something you can disregard if inconvenient for someone to get their rocks off. So even though that means I only have two romance options, I'm fine with it.

Cassandra's all the woman I need anyway, lol.

I think that works when you have an option you like, but I've seen more than a few requests for more options or threads about feeling that some people got more / better options.

Some lesbians hated Sera and wanted Cass.

Some guys have asked for Sera and think Cass is too manly.

I wanted Cullen while some girls were planning dorian romances before the reveals.

Part of the fun in bioware games for some are the romance plots - but it would require there being an interesting option rather than settling for what's available.

Yeah, but it's impossible to satisfy everyone's taste. Even if all eight LIs were bisexual/playersexual, we'd still end up with threads like "Straight guys only get THREE options?!?!?!"

True, and at the end of the day, it is a videogame meant for enjoyment.

However, I don't miss those awkward moments when you get hit on by almost every dude because everyone's bi, lol. Especially Anders who'll even get pissed if you turn him down. Like... dude.

True. I guess there will be some games that some of us will be left in the cold when it comes to romance options. This is the first for me since Mass Effect 1 (which I managed to mod to get Kaidan).

Eh I'd rather have too many than too little, but I see what you mean. I originally worried that I hadn't put enough options on there. . .but I suppose the forum side allows you to voice your opinions on a deeper level anyway.

Well I think there is too much because there is three options I could easily pick since they are similar to me. Just my view though.

The opinions are semi based off people I know. For example the "Yes, I strongly believe their games should portray all sexualities" could easily be the type of person to dive into a debate with someone of opposing opinions whereas the "I like the diversity Bioware portray in their games, this includes sexuality" could be a person who approves of it in an easy going manner or the "I thoroughly enjoy knowing that there are non-heterosexual characters in the game" person could enjoy this on a personal level, perhaps because of their sexuality? I didn't want to add sexuality categories along side the gender ones.

Well... My answer wasn't really there, so I just picked neutral.

I like gating the romances, as it doesn't make sense for every character to want to do the protagonist. Some people just do not swing that way, and a little rejection brings immersion in my eyes.

As for showing every single sexuality? Eh... If it fits for the character, put it in. Otherwise it just looks like some sort of hodge-podge of the sexualities and nothing really shines true for the character. (Coughs, DA:2, coughs).

Poll should have the option of "I feel like the developers should do what ever the f**k they want." I support all sexualities but I don't NEED them to be in a game.

I'm sorry, but I feel these poll choices are done poorly, particularly the positive ones. I honestly could have picked any of the three positive ones and they all would have been applicable to my feelings on the subject.

- Yes, strongly believe that their games should portray all sexualities.
- I like the diversity BioWare portray in their games, this includes sexuality.
- I thoroughly enjoy knowing that there are non-heterosexual characters in their games.

Also, I don't really feel that the gender gated option is applicable, or at least there should be other considerations that can't be included in a simple poll. In DA2 where there was no gender gating we only had four romance options. In this game we have fully double the number at eight. That is a significant difference that needs to be accounted for when discussing this issue.
