I cant speak for others, but the one area were DA or Skyrim and most rpg lack today is flair for the dramatic, it just seems to myself when casting a spell it seems so under whelming. I remember when i played Kingsfield 2 on the PSone and ya would cast a spell like firewall it was not on only powerful but dramatic to see a wall fire wipe out everthing, its the one area were developers need to really improve on.
And swords, there's nothing magical about them anymore, there just a tool till you find a better one, I'd rather have it as your character grows in power so does sword.I just think Bioware should look at games like EverQuest Kingsfield and draw on there strengths to improve upon DA.
DA is such a good game, but it could be the best if they would just put the magic in the world of Dragon Age.
