Only 8 skill slots is fracking annoying.

I cannot immerse into the game; & there is nothing in the lore that prevents me from using all the skills at my disposal. It's also about having fun. sometimes I want to use ice wall to prevent enemies from flanking and it turns out I forgot to bring solas in the party and I (mage) cannot do it because I don't have that skill equipped in my skill bar -__-

I wanna have fun and do silly things.

Dont limit our options; add more magic and please for the love of Andraste add more skill slots.

PS

I was hoping for mods to fix this issue and it turns out the game is not modable -_-"

Agreed--you should be able to expand the utility bar for 8 more, or 16 more or whatever.  8 is so not enough!

It's coming soon, in the Skill Slot DLC Pack, and the Pet Mabari DLC Pack, and the Storage Box DLC Pack, and the Side Quests Mean Something DLC Pack. You can buy them separately or bundle them together for $49.99.

Nice idea but I think the price might be a bit too cheap. You want something that's expansion so people would think that what they are buying is good. So, make it $79.99 for the whole bundle.

Don't forget the Face Code DLC Pack, the Extra Potions DLC Pack, the Out-of-Combat-Heal DLC Pack, and the Auto-Loot DLC Pack.

That is what I am afraid off.

bioware must not cost for things they should have done in the first place. such as storage box, skill slot pet mabari. hopefully they wont ...fingers crossed

So, I'm not going to disagree and say that I wouldn't like more skill slots, but to all of the people joking (but not really) about BioWare charging out the ass for "things that should have been in the game at launch," do I really need to direct you to Mass Effect 3? They screwed up. People got angry. BioWare released every piece of DLC except for Omega, Leviathan, and Citadel - which were all big, dialogue-heavy, and with the exception of Leviathan not 100% necessary to the story - for free. For free, guys. Calm down. See, here's the thing: BioWare doesn't need to do anything. You cannot come up with an example right now about them needing to add any of these features. People are going to buy these games regardless. But BioWare is going to do these things because that's the kind of company they are. You can ****** and moan all you want, but at the end of the day BioWare has almost always come through for the players. So again - please calm down. You're making the level-headed and reasonable people look bad. This kind of hair-trigger, fly-off-the-handle RAEG is why the majority of the world doesn't take gamers seriously.

(Side note: most of you in this thread aren't guilty of this, I know. But there's a lot of it going around and I figure this is a good place to put this, as it's a big point of contention.)

This game is what it is.

Perhaps all this kerfuffle will persuade the Bio game designers to re-think their position on mage skills for the next game or even DLC..

Already asked for it on Twitter and instead of creating a new thread, BUMP.

Some of you guys think it's unnecessary, but some of us don't.

If you like to be limited to 8 skills in each character, by all means. I personally don't like that.

If we are limited in skill slots, may as well be limited in Skill Trees since there's little point developing new skill trees when you have to replace skills in your bar.

Is not the best example, but in SWTOR we have up to 6 skill bars each one with 10+ slots.

And don't argue about "replayability" because I'm not buying that. That would be a cheap mechanic, and the game certainly doesn't need a cheap mechanic like that to be replayable.

After I plug-in a controller ... I realize.... 8 Skill Slots only because: The game is designed for controllers!!!

Try... errr.... walking your character..... can't!!... controller only!! (that's why I plugged one in). Proof that controller design can/does destroy gaming design

Game is intended for consoles with use of controller. I can see this in nearly every aspect of the game. PC version was just added at cheap cost for extra money.

Yes can go back to 10 . But having health potions on number 9 is a big help. But I liked putting them on five in the first game.

It would be nice if they hadn't wasted potential skill slots on commands, the 'Hold', 'Disengage' etc. We could have used them for abilites.

I agree. Bring back the radial skills menu.

Like that episode of Family Guy, 8 is not enough.

You wouldn't even have the mana to cast those spells. Spells usually cost 35-65 Mana; You've got 100 by default.

Adding in extra spells wouldn't change much, chances are by the time you get to do a full rotation of each spell the fight would already be over, unless its a long boss fight. If its just a skirmish, switch out spells in between fights if you want to. Its not convenient, but its possible.

Switching out spells is time consuming and it becomes frustrating and boring. + there are lyrium potions and mana regenerates fast for me or it feels like that way.

Is not about making a full rotation of spells, is about having choice in combat. If my entire skill bar is filled with fire spells and I come across with a fire-resistant guy, my character is pretty much useless. The same goes for the other two classes, sometimes a specific skill is ineffective against a specific threat and you could use instead another skill, but you can't because your skill bar is already full.

We could choose any skill in combat in previous games, why we can't do it now?
