I usually play on insanity difficulty. But some of the fights i find too difficult so i reduce the diffficulty sometimes during the fight. So i was wondering if i find a fight too tough and change the difficulty does the change happen straight away, or is their a delay before the changes take effect ?

I think as long as you change it before a fight begins, the change happens immediately. If you change it during a fight, then it will not change until the next fight.
