I could have been disappointed with the ending... If the post credits scene wasn't a completely awesome WTF!? moment.

That's pretty much like the real ending for me.

I liked the final battle as well, it was epic enough(I was playing as a Warrior).

After the final mission the Inquisition is just taking a breath. That's something I could expect.

Still, I agree they could've done it better, no doubt about that...

I was fine with the ending. Did it scare me as much as climibing the tower to kill an archdemon? No, but I was a newbie then. I'm a season veteran of many a final boss battle.

I experienced the same thing in DA:II. The battle at the foot of the stairs with the blood mage and the demons was much more difficult than the grand finale at the Gallows. For me, the battle to take Emprise du Lion was the most difficult battle of the game, at least the first time through. Could Cory have been more difficult? Yeah, but so could the battle with Meredith in DA:II. I still enjoyed both fights. It was okay. And I gather enough power points to play through from the Abor Wilds so I don't lose the pacing.

Doesn't he actually have to sit on the 'Maker's Throne'?

To be fair, him planting his ass on a throne that he's probably too small for wouldn't just confer god powers on its own, no matter how much he believes it. He was never really going to be a god. He was just going to be that crappy substitute teacher who hates every one of his students and abuses his authority.

I wonder if the "anti-climactic" feel would be alleviated if Corypheus was actually a challenge to kill >.>

KE can kill him so quickly the game glitches because it goes past the point where the cutscenes are supposed to trigger

Probably. Coryphe-shite was a disappointing boss all around because he had nothing going for him that made him stand out. So was his dragon (but then, dragons in general were disappointing except for the Fereldan Frostback, and that's only because of what level we were.). Hell, all combat in DAI was lackluster to me.

It seems to me the ending is meant to say their will be a sequel. Like they ate letting you know it will be time for dlc in a few months

Coryphefish

Didn't she use all three? And perhaps other variations? Could've sworn she liked to make up as many as possible.

Would probably have been a better ending if:

a) Corypheus wasn't completely one-dimensional and hadn't become a cartoon villain at the end of 'What pride had wrought', seriously the ending of that mission was pretty much comedy.

B) There had been an actual compelling gameplay section reaching up to him, something in the vein of ME2's suicide mission or DA:O battle of Denerim, as it stands it's a complete anticlimax unless you go directly from the Arbor Wilds to the last fight, and even so it seems forced.

Cutscene wise and all i think it was great, seeing the Dragons battling and the final confrontation between the characters I'd say the hit the jackpot, it just feels rushed and mostly unchallenging.

I stopped reading at "choices have no consequence". Are we playing the same game? You lost all credibility with that statement alone.

I'm returning the question to you. Show me how choices have consequences in the game. Go ahead, if you prove I'm wrong I'll give it to you. But it's not the case : actually, besides the future Divine and the Empress/Emperor, what does it change? Mages or templars? Nevermind, after Haven's assault it's RT anyway, no more mages (if you sided with the Templars). Keep or exil the GW? Not. a. ******. consequence. Giving you an awesome upgradable keep without setting a siege battle against it? Check. Compare with DA:O or MA2, there were really consequences story-wise that weren't limited to a few seconds of post-game narrated sequence.

I also notice that many of you were just "satisfied" (or not) with the ending, but it changed with the post-credit scene - some of you even rejoicing of future DLC.
Do you even realize that you're acting like (I insist, I'm not insulting anybody here, I say that you act like) consumers sheep for EA-Bioware, ready to buy future DLC following a short late-added cutscene? My theory is that they had actually planned an awesome ending MA2-style, but lacked of time (thanks EA) ; therefore, they opted for a rather classic poor ending, and bet on the cutscene to compensate. And guess what? It worked. All of you who rejoice of future DLC are just acting like sheep who are happy to throw away their money in a rather smart strategic marketing decision. I know I won't fall for it.

Hey guys, first post here. I registered because I didn't find a way to directly contact Bioware. I guess their forums is as close as it can get.

So, I was about to write an extensive piece about my huge disappointment in front of that really lame ending. But then I found out this post, which really sums up my thoughts :

http://johnswritersb...ge-inquisition/

I would add this : DA2 was really a huge disappointment, story and gameplay-wise. DA:I managed to set the standard back to the continuity of DA:O, both in the narratives and the gamplay (or, at least, way closer).

And then, Bioware screws us on the ending. I mean, what. the. hell. I bought the game, thinking it as a last chance for Bioware to convince me that the times of them making games like DA:O or ME2 (that ending was so awesome) wasn't over. That they could still make it.

But it seems it's not. I'm sorry, Bioware, I won't buy any of your games ever again. You managed to fail an otherwise rather awesome game in a 10 minutes final mission. I guess that's some kind of achievement.

While I echo the disappointment of the final battle, I honestly will never understand the mentality of people who claim their 60 hours+ experience was ruined by its last 10 minutes.

Did I get my money's worth? Yes.

Does this excuse the ending? No.

Could it have been done better? Yes.

Did it ruin my enjoyment of the game? Only the last 10 minutes. Literally.

Can people stop dealing in hyperboles?

I don't care for very challenging fights as much as I used to so I thought it was a solid ending. Room for improvement for sure but overall I'm quite content. Post credit scene was a jaw-dropper, have not experienced that in a while, well done.
