In my opinion the strongest mage I met in franchise is Morrigan if she drank from the well if not its Wynne because she proved that in the Asunder novel where among all those experienced enchanters she was the only one who escaped the templar attack.  Other good contenders are Anders with Justice in him, Dorian and Vivienne because I think you can not be so confident if you do not have the skills to back it up.

From the non companions I think its that dude who killed Hawk's mother since it was clear he was capable of killing experienced templars without being possesed which means he has good skill.

What do you all think who is the strongest mage you met in the franchise?

Mage-Warden.

PC's don't count. You know this man!

To the op; Morrigan by the end of DA:I. Anders is stupidly broken if you read that little excerpt that the writers put out prior to DA2's release. But I think shapeshifting into a high dragon trumps pseudo-abominationhood.

In all seriousness though:

mortal characters: Morrigan

'immortal': Solas. We don't see his true power in the game.

Morrigan is Mary Sue level OP at this point.

Second to her I'm gonna have to go with Alexius despite his dorky soul patch. He invented time travel.

Hater. With power comes the eternal binding to an ancient elven god. With all that power, if Solas wants her to lick the ground guess what...

I wanted to say Solas or Flemeth but I do not know if being a god is just being a very strong mage. That is why I mentioned only mortals in the sense that they do not live forever not that they are capable of dying.

Idk....of the non gods, probably Morrigan after DAI.

Of the immortals, it's a toss up between Flemeth and Solas

Yeah, that moment where Morrigan gets royally trumped and schooled by mommy dearest was pretty telling.

It's like having a powerful gun with limited ammo. You get caught in the wrong situation, ain't nothing gonna save you.

One other contender is that crazy mage in the Bracilian forest it is mentioned that many templars fell to his might.

Clarel. And yea, she could throw down.

Don't know that she's up to par with Morrigan and Flemeth, though.

I'm going with Cory or Flemeth. Solas would be a contender if we saw him at full power, but we have not seen that yet and Cory was apparently stronger than Solas when Solas first awoke.

Now if I think about it I put a question like "What country has the most population in the world?". Not much debate there.

Corypheus. I mean... he overpowered even Solas to take the Orb, if I interpreted that right.

Flemeth, I reckon.

I think what's brilliant about it all is, besides her dragon antics, we never really saw what she was fully capable of. Her daughter might have thought she was catching up, but in the end she was dancing to her tune all along. lulz.
