Corypheus
What do you all think is the strongest mage we met in DA franchise?

Morrigan, if she drinks from the Well. If not, then I'd say maybe Zathrian, because he was powerful enough to bind a very strong spirit and curse an entire group of people. In addition, he had hundreds of years of experience since he was quasi-immortal by the time of DA:O.
Of the immortals (Solas, Flemeth, Cory, Imshael?) it's hard to say, as we haven't seen Solas in his full power. Before or during DA:I, I'd say Flemeth was the most powerful. After DA:I, it's got to be Solas/Flemeth/Mythal.

Flemeth, until end-game Solas.

Well for the mortals I'd say Morrigan. Also Vivienne. Comon she's a knight enchanter ![]()

I think "powerful" and "good in a fight" can mean different things. A knight-enchanter is an awesome combatant, but I think has a more limited repertoire (since they are more focused on combat) than other mages. I could be wrong, though.

Flemeth, or I guess whoever's inside Solas' body by the end.

It was intended as a humorous remark
I do still think she's pretty powerful though, outside combat that is.

Clarel. And yea, she could throw down.
Don't know that she's up to par with Morrigan and Flemeth, though.
She punched a hole through the gut of a high dragon.
._.
What exactly were the highlights of BOTH those characters now?
Heh.
Thought so.

Not really a fair competition. The only mage companions who aren't a god, bound to a god, or possessed by a spirit are Dorian, Vivienne, Velanna, and Merril.
In which case, I guess I'd go with Dorian because of all the Tevinter training and knowledge he's had access to.

Exactly.
Which would offer them little to nothing considering Clarel demonstrated a complete lack of giving a **** about hax regarding dragons.

Mortal: Morrigan, with the Well.
Immortal: Flemythal, probably. She's had a long, long time to figure out what she's up to, and while Solas might be the Dread Wolf, he was also napping for a while. And tends to make worse life choices than she does ![]()

Clarel was dying. That last shot was probably everything she had left in the tank. I'm sure if Morrigan cut loose she could hang. This is without throwing demigods like Solas and Flemeth into the picture.

It rendered dragon scale like paper and came out the otherside.
Folks who said it merely made the dragon off balance need to rewatch the cutscene; the stupid dragon should be dead, its innards likely fried from that blast. Because you can clearly see the scales basically melting off at the point of contact and then the blast it self piercing the dragon and then those beams of light escaping out of its back in showers of blood before the boom.
Stupid bloody horcrux.
All i'm saying is that a Grey Warden Mage basically blew a high dragon in half and without story reasons intervening it would have likely killed the stupid little lizard.

So remind me which one of the two ended up walking away from that encounter to fight in a later quest...?Exactly.

Who knew you knew so much about dragon anatomy as to say what should and should not happen?

As far as DA goes?
Well we know they have organs that produce flame in their bodies like most dragons in mythos but the point is this: I doubt a heart can take what that blast did, it seemed like a pretty clear one shot attempt.
To the point i'd say without Dev comment it would work on actual archdemons.

Stupid Horcrux demeans that powerful mage.

So what you are saying is that she is less powerful than something created by Cory. Check and mate.Stupid Horcrux demeans that powerful mage.

Not even close.
Without story intervention (the dragon falling into the fade to be recovered later by cory and likely brought back from the brink of death) that beast was destroyed, in my eyes anyway.
Honestly it shouldn't even be tied into the main plot, that idea was rehashed garbage to be honest, oh i can impart a portion of my soul into a dragon yay, that can't possibly be used against me even before people learn about it.
Oh wait...crap its dead.
<.< I bet Cory had Nightmare looking for that dumb thing for weeks.

Second to her I'm gonna have to go with Alexius despite his dorky soul patch. He invented time travel.
Perhaps he was originally trying to find a time when that was acceptable facial hair. Alas no such time exists.

Also never said. Just because a spell is flashy doesn't mean it's powerful. There's also the fact that this particular dragon is full of red lyrium.

I agree; i think it causing the scales to literally just burn away means its powerful ;P
