Maybe you people should exclude Flemeth since she's possessed and Morrigan if she drinks from the well, because it's pretty obvious they're OP.
What do you all think is the strongest mage we met in DA franchise?

This is quickly turning into an "I like pie" kind of thread. Can't we just put Elven God Team aside?
Ya for real. It's unfair to include Solas, Flemeth, and Corypheus in a contest like this. Even Morrigan is kind of iffy since she's so obviously the writers' pet.
And I can't believe no one else said Alexius. This guy singlehandedly invented time travel and beasted his way through the space time continuum. That's completely next level.

And I do believe someone mentioned Alexius before. Although I do prefer the interpretation that his "time" magic is actually just the fade creating a what if scenario of if the person had time traveled, keeps a lid on having time travel in the setting.

No let's determine the best out of the people who are actually people. Making it a competition of gods/mythological creatures vs. random losers who went to wizard college is no fun, imo.
And I was the the one who mentioned Alexius. I'm like the Alexius fan club president.
P.S.: I like your interpretation of his time magic a lot as well. Still pretty cool stuff.

You put such faith in a mage who did literally nothing. I don't care about how much blood appears after the spell effect. If the dragon flies off no trouble, then she did nothing that no one else has done to it.
It didn't fly off.
It fell in a heap.

Seriously, I'm the first person to mention Warden Commander Clarel?
First, she was deemed strong enough to bind Nightmare, then she manhandled a Tevinter Magíster and after being chewed on by a dragon still had enough strenght to make it bleed and stumble.
I have actually been pretty adamant in my belief of her skill.

Alright, if we aren't counting demigods, and we aren't counting PCs, then the answer is obvious.

Flemeth hands-down, as Coryplunker is nothing more than a whiny, spoiled brat, that needs a grand ass-kicken', to remind him who is Elders are!
While i don't for one second think Morrigan isn't powerful, she wouldn't stand a chance against 'mommy-dearest'.
Oh and for the record, I haven't gotten to the end yet...............I know, i know, there's no hurry.

How about Avernus? Guy can clearly hold his own considering that he's managed to survive Soldiers Peak for decades. Likewise he managed to put off the calling this entire time, can close Fade Tears, and his comments on dreams for Levi might hint at him being a Somniari/Dream Walker.

I think you're onto something. At least from a raw potential perspective. I still say Alexius' time magic has the edge. If he can figure out how to make it work by finding an alternative power source Thedas could very well enter an age of 'Alexian Enlightenment'.

Everyone knows Sandal is the man behind the curtain pulling the strings. He's the real trickster, a master of illusions. No one would expect him.

I actually believe it's just that illusion trick that has made it possible for him to overcome the templars so far; even Morrigan is rather surprised to see that kind of magic.
I wouldn't take Morrigan out of the equation actually because even pre-Well drinking (if she does), she's the most knowledgable and demon-resistant mortal mage despite her obvious ambition for power.
Alas, Avernus, Alexius and let's not forget Orsino would remain then for me.
Semi-serious: How about Fiona for, y'know, overcoming and staying resistant to the taint? Even Flemeth is afraid of the taint.

Though he may not be the most powerful mage, Ketojan wins the award for greatest amount of badarsery.
Does he? One could argue that he's just thoroughly indoctrinated and blinded by the Qun, and afraid to live outside of it and/or having to fight against spirit possession and all the responsibility that comes with it.
Not to incite real life analogies but suicide due to fear and faith-adherence isn't anything I'd call "badass"; I'd call it fanatically dumb and weak.

Flemth and Solas are inhabittant of Gods as is Corypheus so I don't count that.
Unknown how powerful Morrigan has become so I'm going to say that crazy old man in the Dalish forest in DAO before he went insane.
