So, I'm hoping someone can give me some insight here, because it seems like the assassin focus ability is pretty lackluster when compared to the basic focus power. Can someone give some good examples of where the assassin focus shines, or how to use it effectively?

Pretty sure most people don't bother getting it.

I know that I have only used it once, just to try it out, and I'm pretty sure no one is using it nearly as much as they are using Thousand Cuts on their tempest. The purpose of the thread is to find out if anyone has found some good uses for it, or any instances where it really does shine.

Since it doesn't seem like you can skip encounters by stealthing past them, I think the best use of that focus ability would be as a complete aggro dump for your whole group.  if you really screw up when engaging a group of enemies or get ambushed you just pop group stealth, retreat your squishies to a safe place and engage with your tank first.

I am going to try it against a dragon with my rogueonly setup. IF it is a real stealth i could imagine it coming out really big with a t3 focusbar. 9 seconds of unharmed damage from 4 rogues WITH a 50% damage increase for the full duration sounds absolutely amazing in theory. In practice i have no idea since i havent used it yet;)

I still think thousand cuts would fit assassin better and I really don't see why we need 2  stealth abilities even though you can stay in stealth during combat it doesn't seem worth it considering it only lasts 9 seconds on tier 3

But if a single assassin can kill a dragon on nightmare difficulty in 20 seconds...derp...which enemy would survive longer than 9 seconds if 4 rogues go full nuts???

Corypheus: "Now, is the hour of my-*4 perma stealthed rogues stab him for 5 seconds.*

The only benefit this conveys is that you (and any rogues in your party) gain the benefit of "attacking from stealth" for x number of seconds, if you have perks and attacks that take advantage of attacking from stealth.

As i said in my first post, IF this is the same stealth as the rogueskill from subterfuge, all partymembers should also gain a 50% damage increase for the full duration, which is just...HUGE!
