Hey all,

 

Elven women. Can't do it. Every attempt to make an attractive and fierce Elven goddess has come out terribly. They end up having a strangely round and pudgy face (unless you're into that sort of thing) or look extremely man-ish from the nose down.

 

If you're feeling sassy, post your Elven women and show me how it's done. A few tips would be nice too.

It's not perfect - the mouth is the bane of my CC existence - but here is my Lavellan:

Get some other elven faces for reference, try not to fight the Lore's depiction of the facial structure too much, or it will look jarring when you see and interact with other elves. That's not to say elves can't have busted noses or have fierce heihachi eyebrows, more a matter of skull shape and underconstruction. I find certain jaws harder to pull off with an elf, but that's my opinion.

For a fierce look, consider the more elaborate facepaints instead of what I used.
And beware the Disney elf ears. You will know when you see them...

Truthfully, I was going for a Clarke from The 100 look. Blonde, strong features. Maybe that's better on a human.

They all look the same but minor changes each time. I spent hours trying to get it right but I am never happy. I spent 15 minutes making my Male human.

It's a human character, but it shouldn't be all that hard to match it with an elf. If nothing else makes a decent reference, perhaps.

I like this. I'm trying to stay away from the childish looking elves (huge eyes, wide/smooshed faces, comically large ears).

After about 15-20 attempts this is my current dallen Lavellan. I'm not completly satisfied yet, but I think I found the right way to go.

I like her. I don't think anything is off. It's just weird lightning in this game as well as the animations which can sometimes distort your character.

Thank you. I wanted her to look 'elfy' but not 12. I also dislike the dark vallaslin or overdone make up. Just my personal taste though. The complexions that I really want to use, I can't.. or won't.. they dont line up correctly with the face mesh. Meh, I'm just too picky

But, Dark Vallaslin and overdone make-up makes my elf look pretty =P

A matter of preference i suppose. I like full intensity dark eyeliner because it puts accent on eyes. Half the time i spend in CC is on the eyes. It's my main focus and starting point.

Just finished my second playthrough with this lady, probably not everyone's cup of tea but I love her. D;
