So I need some help. Trying to tweak an elf based loosely on a human character I made (longer, thinner face) and something's still just off. I slapped some screenies here on tumblr if anyone has any ideas. I'm OK with the elfy nose n such, it's the general face structure that's the problem.
I think it's the mouth or the jaw is too short or something. Urgh. I know the nose is a bit long but that's on purpose

Haha, thank you. I admit I'm overly nitpicky and I've been nitpicking this particular face for far too long. I don't always aim for typically beautiful/"golden ratio" proportions (especially non-humans, imo there's lots of room to stylize) but ... still not sure about this gal. 
EDIT: It's weird, because getting an Asian face I was happy with was easy, but this one is taking so many rerolls. So many.

I can't believe I only just realized - the vallaslin (sp?) are obligatory, aren't they? Since not having them wouldn't make sense for a certain romance? I don't know why, this fact irritated me a little bit - I seem to recall that you could be clean-faced as a Dalish in DAO. Do /all/ adult Dalish have them, lore-wise?

yep, having the vallaslin is a rite of passage for the dalish. dalish without vallaslin are considered children still.

I personally love using full-faced dark vallaslins. We are dalish, show it off! xD
Though I just noticed this recently too, I thought you could just turn it off like the other tattoos. But that's why there are options like this. It's minimal, and doesn't change the overall look of the face and you can still tune it down to almost nonexistent.
Some of the vallaslin are literally like makeup and make the pc look gorgeous! There's one in the later sliders that reaches around the eyes and looks badass. Still, even if you can't go barefaced (although that would be kind of hilarious if the Inquisitor was a teen or something....) having them at low opacity works well in my headcanon. Like, they could fade over time, or perhaps you didn't opt for dark colors when receiving them, like it's surviving the pain of the process that matters, and having dark tattoos could be something a modest PC would find showy. Would have been awesome if there had been some reaction related to the god specific vallaslin you have.

However, seeing how DA:I says you were sent to the conclave as a spy, broadcasting to everyone 'yo I am dalish I have no business here whatsoever' seems like a bad idea.
I'm annoyed we're not given the option of not having the facial tattooing. I can hide it, mostly, but look at the chin here:

Yes, that's the green one with the lightest skin tone. 
My elf also has the lightest skin tone option in game, so you could try the darker one?

As far as I know the lightest option matсhes with the 2nd (from the left) skin tone. They go well together. ))

Thanks guys. My fem human is currently using the medium version, and her skin is the lightest of the darker tones (one click to the right of the middle).. if that makes sense. Seems to go nicely as well, just for reference
Alright, I'm having fun with this... 
My attempt to recreate the concept DAI elf sculpture. Just to see if it's possible at all. I had a hard time particularly over her eyes, but I think I got it pretty close overall (I'd make the chin width even smaller though) I just wish I could change the angle of the eyebrows to get that determined look, but alas...
