Nah, I give all my elves the DA2 noses too. But agreed, nice work!

 

I think it makes Elves x10 harder to create, don't you think? I've had many failed attempts at Elves that have beautiful jaw lines and cheek bones and their eyes structured to perfection, only for a huge oggly nose stranded in the middle of her face.

 

I'm torn really haha. Should I be a die hard supporter and continue to preserve the nose, despite even Bioware giving up on it, or make human-ie looking Elves?

I dunno, I kinda like the nose. I did it both for this character (face preset 4) and this one that a lot of people seemed to like (face preset 3). I don't think it has to be unattractive, personally. My avatar girl is also sporting the nose, based on sliders from my blonde elf.

 

EDIT: I do move the eyes forward/outward (however you want to look at it) a bit from the default for elves, though. Otherwise with the nose they're really deeply set.

Well... she is! Thanks. I tried to make her look sort of "traditional" elven and a bit "woodsy" and lean like she knows hardship, which seemed right for a Dalish. She ended up with a facial structure fairly similar to Solas.

My elf up on the previous page actually has a fairly DA2 style nose as well, though you don't really notice it when she's not in profile (probably because it's also fairly wide and a bit crooked and then there's the Vallaslin which just overshadows everything else xD). Yeah, I'm a fan too.

She looks really great!! The red hair is a nice touch. I don't know if it's the eyes or nose (or both) but she has a certain sharpness and I like that.

 

 

Thank you! I used hair recolour mod to make СС's red hair redder and brighter. I think it suits her well. ))

 

 

That's the most amazing Elfie-elf I've ever seen. I've been trying my hardest to create an elf that looks distinguishably different to humans, and you've done it. The only change I would make is make the bridge of the nose more flat to reflect the DA2 art design (yeah, I actually love DA2 Elves... I feel like a lonely soul in that opinion though haha), but that's just my taste. Amazing work!

 

Oh, thank you!  To be honest, at first I didn't like the anatomy of elves in the DA2, but then I got used to it. But I don't think such nose bridge shape will fit my elf, it changes her character. ))

...after I recognized that Iam not really happy with her I created Valeah...

...her story ended after the Hinterlands....and I was sitting there again and tried to creat a new character *puh*

Have four different f!Lavellans. They range in age from around 30ish to 40. My first f!elf, got the voice change bug, so she was put aside, and I quickly made another. She turned out a little strange (super shiny skin, and it looks like she suffers from constant allergies ), but kept her nonetheless. Next, I wanted an older Lav, but out of the CC, she didn't really look much older. As someone who really didn't change much age wise, until I hit 42, I decided to live with it.

Anyway, here are my four ladies:

Ulee Lavellan, DW Rogue, mid-30's.

Here is my Lady Almarea Lavellan.

I think I made her about three times because I couldn't get the vallaslin color right. What I wouldn't give to be able to add a contour. Since she has pretty dark skin, I just felt that anything lighter looked like neon paint on her face.

I wanted to go with an ethereal look for my Lavellan and I think I did pretty well.  I don't like to go heavy on the make-up or scars, but I did give her a little scar on her throat:

I was working the longest time trying to achieve that DAII/elf tarot card nose and I gave up on a perfect replica. The only nose shape, which has that straight line is enormous and just looks deformed. Now, I can work around the size, but not the shape... it looked terrible every time.
So, I chose another shape and tried to move the bridge outward. Although this wasn't the look I was going for, this was the maximum I could do. Moving it more and it creates a "bump" between the nose and forehead... *sigh*
First time seeing it outside the CC my first thought was "nonono this won't work", but I gave it a chance anyway and it has really grown on me. Adds to her... character I guess?
Most of the time it seems straight and flat anyway, so I'm happy with it.

I don't know how you achieved that nose but it looks amazing, and I'm totally impressed! I thought it was impossible making it look right!

How DO people make some shots so terrifyingly gorgeous? I swear I've never seen any convos up close - I'm guessing flycam or something? Any specific other settings? I'm still in love with my PC but since getting to Skyhold she's been smiling too much.

I tried out the DAI Cinematic Tools once, you can make close ups with it. I still don't get the hang of it, but I didn't really practice with it either...
(Ha, I miss my Elfquisitor's smiling face... she's such a serious person and hardly ever smiles....)

With the bridge position all the way to the left (adjusted up or down for straightness), you can do it with Face 3, Nose 1. The other elf I used was Face 4, with the nose one of 'em past the middle but I forget which number.

 

That said I really like your gal, elfiest nose or no. Unfortunately I am out of likes for today apparently, lol.

 

And yup, closeups from Cinematic Tools. There's a bit of a learning curve on them for sure.

Here's my newest F!Lavellan (well, my second, and I already posted my first one). I struggle with F!Lavellan because I tend to steer away from the elfin look (personal preference, I love to see what other people come up with!), and because for whatever reason I tend not to like big eyes on my chars (my first F!Lavellan has relatively normal sized eyes). However, big eyes are canon for Thedas elves (as referenced to in-game and in the literature) just like black sclera is canon for Skyrim elves, so I finally made one.
