She took me a long time, but I think she's worth it. Already like her more than my first character.

After about 15-20 attempts this is my current dallen Lavellan. I'm not completly satisfied yet, but I think I found the right way to go.
Nice! I'm trying to get my Elf to look somewhat normal "human" but with more delicate or sharp features. Can you give up some advice on how you made this one? My primary issue is that I don't know which head to start with.
Truthfully, I was going for a Clarke from The 100 look. Blonde, strong features. Maybe that's better on a human.
Eliza Taylor is a difficult one.. I've tried on a female human. Her nose is what I could not get. ![]()
A touch too high and far apart
Hmm.. you may be correct. I will undoubtedly try to remake her several times over. I shall try lower and closer next time 'round. Thank ya ![]()
A couple of tips, the results from which can be found below:
1) Keep switching the voice options in the CC as you go. This is the ONLY way, as far as I can tell, to preview how your character will animate once in the game
2) Minimal makeup. With the lighting in the CC and there being all sorts of different lighting in-game, it's very hard to predict how the make-up will look. I put intensity for ALL makeup options to zero. Except lip-color intensity to 30% to get a soft pink shade.
3) View your character's face "in-askance" while you play with the sliders. I found that I got best results when I tilted my character's face in CC about 30 - 45 degrees away from me, with the chin tilted slightly upwards. This reveals lumpy cheeks and weird jaw curvature that are not apparent from a head-on straight-facing or full-profile angle of view. Plus this is the most common angle you'll get in the game, cut-scene or non-cut-scene. Your Inquisitor either has her back to the camera or always looking at it in askance. Rarely does she look into the camera straight on.

wow, your elf is so beautiful >__<
@Maxga - I understand you completly. The problem with the heads is that it also shapes the lips, nose and chin regardless of the individual customization you make on them. The heads have a base of their own and if you don't like something is super hard to try fix it with sliders.
My first attempt of her I used the head number 2:

But I really don't like the ear shape of this head, so the closest I could get was head number 4 to work with.

But I ended up liking a lot of what I could do with this head. Answering your question tho: All female characters I create in any game follow the same idea as this one, I have her face so vivid in my mind that is almost as she is a real person, been playing with characters that look like this for many years now. My idea behind her is a woman that portray a severe winter.. Feels really strong, looks desolate, melancholic, cold, quiet but adorned by white mist, silver pale sunlight. Yeah, a silver pale sun is a good definition for her. I can pm you the sliders if you like.
Well, time for playthrough number 3, with Dalish mage number 3. D;

I had that elven clay sculpt they showed ages ago in mind when I made her, as well as the DA2 concept art elves.
A matter of preference i suppose. I like full intensity dark eyeliner because it puts accent on eyes. Half the time i spend in CC is on the eyes. It's my main focus and starting point.
Yep, personal taste. I meant no disrespect to those that do a lot of make up and dark tattoos.
My 1st try:
And for the 2nd try, I wanted a little creepy (mage necromancer):

This 1st try looks great. Facial proportions, skin tone, all looks like something I'd want to use. Do you recall which head you started off with?

Wow, a truly stunning elf. Well done.

The same cutscene shot of two different elves. I think I did a decent job with them, without them appearing too similar. Starting with a different head for each helped with that.
Eleni, my mage
Kyra, my rogue

Wow, a truly stunning elf. Well done.
Thank you! I am rather fond of her myself. :3
Elven witch, of terrible power!
Spoiler
Iron Bull approves..
Tell me you have sliders! She is amazing! I love her facial structure so much.
Mine looks kinda... human
I also wish I had given her green eyes

Here's mine, Cale.

Somethings off about my elf. It's the mouth, sometimes she has really weird big teeth showing. Also, I almost lost it when I started playing and she had that weird spot on her chin, but it turned out it was a spec of dirt
I think I need to go back to the drawing board.

Sure, here you go.
