Finally got an elf lady I'm happy with. I'm really pleased with how this one came out, probably my favourite DA:I character so far. Thanks to all the people who posted sliders and tips, helped me no end.

Here's a close-up of my Lavellan doing something good for a change!
Quoting myself from another thread, cause I'm an Elf :-P

Once the Black Emporium is available I may adjust her makeup a bit but other than that she turned out pretty nicely.
@MelissaGT She looks great! Almost would believe she is modded!
Thumbs up and enjoy the DLC ![]()
Ok, so in preparation of not being able to use mods for an undetermined about of time (due to Patch 6), I decided to re-start my feral Dalish, Rowan. I didn't get far with her at all so I didn't have any issues with re-creating her with a vanilla CC. I actually think I like her better than the modded version.
Yet another specimen proving elven superiority. ![]()

So if I made a human with that exact same face shape, you would still think the elf is better...simply because of the long ears?

Would be fun to see the same settings on a human, with same kinda closeup of outcome! :-)
Curious here, might have to test it out myself :-O

Elves are superior for many reasons, not just face shape. I don't mean to imply that elven superiority is an objective truth. People obviously feel different, as human is still the most popular race to play. "Elves are superior," is my own personal opinion, one that I make many times obviously. ![]()
I've spotted 2 female human inquisitors that I would at least deem unique. Example (the redhead) from LostinReverie19 below:
http://forum.bioware...its/?p=18709729
Elspeth Trevelyan and Aderyn Hawke
This inquisitor has always stood out to me as one of the most unique Trevelyans. Part of the problem is likely that most gamers want their female Trevs to be beautiful by Western standards, which means a very specific kind of face shape and make-up pattern. Users who deviate from this formula create unique, actual human-looking inquisitors. There's another user who made an older Trev a while back named "Teresa." I liked that one too.
There's nothing more I can say without the human folk gathering all their torches and pitchforks, so I'll leave it at that. ![]()

After testing my first elf, I finally got the hand of the CC and made this beauty I will be playing now. I used preset 1 and face 4 for her. Chose the elf nose and number 4 eyes, then altered everything with the sliders.

Here's my Elidri. Second attempt at recreating Emma Caulfield's face on an elf. It's better than my last attempt anyway.

Though I'm not sure I buy into a "formula" for Western standards of beauty (everybody likes what they like, which can be very different things), I'm pretty sure it's entirely possible to create realistic looking human IQ's that would fall into that category. I don't wish to deviate from the elf thread, but I wanted to prove a point. As an experiment I once decided to try and create my own face in the CC. This is what I got:
The nose is a tad off, but another user showed me how to get a better nose that I will work into the face once the BE comes out. ANYWAYS, my point was that folks can absolutely create realistic human-looking "Western" IQ's in the CC, albeit with a little work. Also, I'm pretty sure that a good number of the elves posted would be considered beautiful by "Western" standards as well... ![]()
Your self insert is pretty good. I can see what you mean about the nose. I've been trying to do my own face, but I can't get the nose either. Or my eyebrows for that matter.
Thank you - I'm hoping when the BE comes out I can finish up the face and finally be 100% happy with it. I can't bring myself to go through the start again so I will happily wait for the BE. ![]()
None of the vanilla eyebrows are even close to mine in real life. I was able to find modded ones that I can make do with, but of course til the coders figure out mods with Patch 6 that's another roadblock for me.
Here's Cale 2.0 hopefully I won't find a flaw (I spent way too much time in the CC)

I'm just really happy that I managed give her the DA2-styled nose!

Oh, and I'm going to revert to patch 5 just to get my mods back.
I haven't upgraded yet. Someone showed me how to run Patch 5 and Patch 6 by renaming folders and whatnot. I will need to try that once I get to the DLC point with a vanilla character. I can play my modded characters (without the DLC) on patch 5, and have at least one character to run Patch 6 and the DLC.
I'm not sure how you avoid the upgrade. Even in offline mode the game refused to run until I upgraded. I'm sure I just have some setting wrong.
I have two options selected in Origin:
I even figured out how to create a new character using the Keep while not patching over. Just start up DA:I while "offline," then open up Origin, go "online," log in in-game, create your character with your Keep world state, go back "offline." Easy peasy - lemon squeezy.

- Select "Go Offline"

That is a very interesting face. I can almost pinch her cheeks.
