I'll play!  Finally got done house sitting for a friend, and I'm trying to recreate the elf I made on their XBOne version of the game.  Here's Eirlys:

The same look seems to happen with me as well. And yes, there are two that I prefer to use.. maybe that's why. I have tried other peoples sliders, followed them as exact as I could, and once I saw the results in game, I was just like.. NO. And I go back to my own. It's sad really.

Ahha) Its worse with me actually) I feel comfortable only with one head shape  Seems that I am damned to a single elf playthrough.... Solas and Cullen will have to share. Sorry, guys

I am pretty happy with how my Lavellans turned out.  I always start with Head #3 (pretty sure it's #3.  It's the pale, short white haired one)and then tweak it.

Somethings off about my elf. It's the mouth, sometimes she has really weird big teeth showing. Also, I almost lost it when I started playing and she had that weird spot on her chin, but it turned out it was a spec of dirt I think I need to go back to the drawing board.

 

 

 

 

 

I don't know, I really like her. I'd go through a play-through with her. She looks natural and appropriate lore-wise.

I think I went a little overboard with the ears to avoid hair clipping. She is my first and only elf and I am quite happy with how she turned out.

The second to last face shape is my favorite- it's a rounded face with a wider jaw.  I also prefer using the first and second presets as the beginning for my elf female faces.  They seem to be the best starting points when I go to that face shape.

This 1st try looks great. Facial proportions, skin tone, all looks like something I'd want to use. Do you recall which head you started off with?

Unfortunately I do not have the sliders, but I started with the 1st head type and chose a middle-broad face-type. Hope it helps

Thank you, I should try these. I hope I will be able to do smth new. Cause I've already did so many variations of the same face, it's sickening) The funniest thing though is that I still can't beat my version 1.0, so they all end up in garbage, and I stick to my old elven lass)

But I've decided to try recreating that elf as well, as a challenge more than anything

I guess she turned up close to yours, but still not that good-looking

I like her well enough in some cutscenes though.. In others she's just off.. But Solas might have some hope now I guess)

Adjusting the angle of the head is important with most sliders, but especially with the jaw, cheek, cheekbone, nose, and chin sliders. I personally find the forehead ones a bit tricky. As far as roundness of the face goes, the jaw/cheek adjusters have the most impact. I've also found that the chin, nose, and eye levels on most heads need to be adjusted from the defaults in every Dragon Age game thus far, unless you're going for a more elongated face. People have posted some good tips in the "Realistic Facial Proportions" thread, which might help if you're having trouble and aren't already familiar with those.

Anyhow, here's my first character (who I'm still playing), Tegwen Lavellan:


She turned out pretty well, I think. The only problems are that I was trying for black hair but couldn't find anything that looked completely black, so I picked the one that looked the closest (apparently I should've gone for the one that looked light blue), and her vallaslin ended up lighter than I thought they would. Both looked darker in the character creator, which is why I stuck that shot in there as well.
