Forgot? There have been no precedents for brawling monks in Dragon Age. All the monks you encounter are the classic medieval scholar type.
Do you truly believe a monk would play that much different from a dagger rogue?

But on the other hand Paladins are so OP. I'd take this over NWN monk power anyday. I love Pally RP but this is the first game I've played where I didn't have to buff for nine minutes to melee

Not really part of the lore, but I've always had a soft spot for Monks, and was upset when the first Dragon Age didn't have them. Also no multiclassing. But Its still fun. And yes the game play in inquisition could support a wicked Monk.
Actually what they should do is use this engine and make a sequel to Jade Empire finally. That'd be sweet, and pandas would totally fit in.

Well....the game world kind of represents middle age England and France, how many people do you think rushed to war in a robe and their bare fists, that wasn't incredibly drunk? The martial artist monk is a Chinese thing, and even then, they didn't use bare fist kung fu either, they used farming tools, or whatever was handy.

Kung Fu allows an unarmed monk to defend himself from a bandit. It doesn't make him capable of fighting on the same level as a soldier.
It doesn't fit into Dragon Age...

That would be great.

Monks used weapons. No one fights guys with armor and weapons bare-handed. Its a horrible class design that never made sense.

The Book 'The Calling' based in the Dragon Age Universe has a Monk in it, she is a silent sister, pretty cool too. I love Monks this should be a thing. ![]()

Those aren't monks, they're warriors. They're also restricted to female dwarves and you have to cut out your own tongue to join them. Plus some of them do fight with weapons. So no, they're not exactly monks.
Plus really, the whole cut out the tongue thing would suck ass as a Warrior specialization quest and make the rest of the game from that point on really awkward. >.>

The class that truly been forgotten, is the Ranger. One of the more iconic fantasy classes, which they had a very good model of in DAO. Perhaps a ranger did not fit in the mainly city adventure of DA2 (still could have worked), but there was really no excuse not to have it into DLI, except that a ranger is generally not a master of one style, but is usually adept at both a missile weapon and a melee weapon. That just doesn't work in the dumbed downed, combat styles Bioware has moved to.
Second class that has been abandoned, is the Bard. Even though they throw Leliana right in our faces, both at the end of DA2, and throughout DLI, we are not allowed to create a bard, not even as a specialty class. Apparently another class that was just too diverse to be included in the dumbed down game.

I didn't necessarily mean a MONK. (no im not talking about fkn pandas from WoW, been playing rpgs since SSI dark sun wake of ravager) Just something having to do with brawling/unarmed combat....I can easily imagine seeing martial arts with DA2's combat system. It would have been "crunchalicious".

I'm not sure if they forgot them or choosen to only give them to the Multi player some new exclusive classes like the Alchemist : http://forum.bioware...odels-dec-2014/
