The most baffeling thing here , is that these anti-gay are saying 'Let's erase the stuff Bioware made for gay peoples cose...make me feel weird!' and apparently it is ok ?

I mean...it is just..baffeling . You are aware dear anti-gay that you are trying to take stuff that make peoples happy ? So you don't feel weird ? Are you aware of that ? And you think it is right ??

It's one quest . ONE QUest , 4 romances in totals . Compared to...I don't know....a hundred at least of hetero normal stuff ? couple ? kingdoms ? religions ?

It just....seriously , I like a mod to close this down .

Humans are not animals. Just ask The Elephant Man.

Well, we're not plants or fungi or bacteria or amoebae, either. (Shia LeBouf excepted, he must have grown under someone's toilet. But I digress.)

Actually thought that scene was one of the better ones in the game so far, even though your character really had no business being in the room.

The more I play of the game the less I like it, but Dorian is one of the highlights for sure.

Humans are animals. It's just humanity's superiourity complex that makes them think just because we belong to the hominis genus, we're more than a bag of flesh with two legs, two arms and some vestigial pieces of a tail.

All the homosexual characters in recent BioWare games, DAI included, is...disconcerting for me.  I'm of the persuasion that homosexual acts are sinful, and would prefer to avoid things that support that.  But, that's my problem, not the developers.  I'd prefer it to not be in the games, but I'm just one customer out of millions, so why should they care about my opinion?  If I want, I'm free to not play the games.

I don't think it's a matter of BioWare "shoving it down our throats".  For the most part, it's about broadening the appeal and giving LGBT players a romance they can connect with, which is commendable on a certain level.  Stuff like Krem and Dorian gets a little preachy, but Dorian's whole quest was actually pretty tastefully done in my opinion.  Krem though, there's no real reason for Krem to be in the game and have attention drawn to "his" gender.  Qunari suddenly being a trans society and your character only being allowed to briefly bat an eyelash at the whole thing in a medieval-esque setting feels gratuitous. That's rather close to having an agenda  that they're shoving down players' throats.

I agree with thread title. Not focusing on issues LGBT people face in real life will show the players a world where LGBT people are viewed as equals and where people are judged based on their actions and not on their sexual orientation. This is a kind of world we should aspire to have. Bringing issues that LGBTs face in real life to the game worlds does more harm than good IMO. Bioware has a great example with Mass Effect 3 where Samantha Traynor and Steve Cortez are presented as equal and valuable members of the crew without facing any prejudice and being accepted by the society.

I have not played Dragon Age Inquisition and can't comment on the original post.

First of all, I am absolutely agree with you on your last paragraph, SkyKing. It is true that people have right to live their life however they want, until it is not going against common sense or laws. But there is a limit to all. And I believe if things go as they are, soon, straight people would have to try and protect their rights to date a girls...

As for the game. Well, I did the Dorian personal quest, and I did not paid much attention to it: "So he is a gay, yeah, whatever". That is a trend this days, I guess. At least all this gay stuff was not pushed to you every time you have a conversation with him. If you really want to see when this is pushed to you at every angle, play Dragon Age II.

yea hating ander's banter in act 3 very annoying

I have no problem with LGBT issues appearing in game as long as it's done correctly, but it's not. I find Bioware's writing to be very poor when it comes to this. Dorian is as stereotypical representation of a gay man as they could have come up with, and his personal quest was so cheesy and cliche it made it laughably dumb to play through. I think my biggest problem is these pointless characters they shoehorn in just to prove how "progressive" their company is becoming. I know some may like Krem but really he adds nothing to the story other than to tell the player that he is trans and they should be accepting of the fact. That is all good but at least make a real character out of him and not just a stunt to make a point. What I really can't believe is how much people fall for this and love it. Bioware has done an amazing job tricking members of the LGBT community into loving their games while still misrepresenting them in such a poor way. I expect more out of their writers and everyone else should too.

So we shouldnt have content that speak to us ?

We should just have...NOrMAL content that speak to you...and we stay there on the side , bystander .

right.....

He made a good point.  Has anybody watched Downton Abbey?  I like the show a lot, and I'm fine w/ the Thomas character.  However, the show takes place in the early 1900's.  There were gay people then but a whole episode went against the time period.  It was about how if the law found out about Thomas he would be arrested. That is true, but then the the episode turned into a preachy times have changed and people don't judge anymore and nobody at downton abbey cared Thomas was gay. Sorry but in the early 1900's, he would of been kicked out and there would have been haters in there.  They inserted the modern movement and it was completely out of place in that show. That's an example of 'having it shoved down our throats'.  Him being gay didn't take away or wasn't unrealistic, but then the whole preachy message was completely out of place for that time and era and felt like an LGBT preach session.

Straight relationships are self-evident since that is how you and I were born. To advocate LGBT is push an alternative lifestyle that has a whole other purpose. So, the answer to your question is, yes.

And you're misogynistic desire for, half white / half anime avatar cartoons with ridiculously enormous breasts is completely normal.

I cannot like your post because I don't agree with the "homosexual acts are sinful" part.  The second paragraph of your post, I agree with.  Kinda rolled my eyes at the school-house-rock moments in the dialogue around Krem in particular.

As someone who--and I know I'm not alone in this--just automatically pick all the Investigative options to experience the most out of the wonderful writing in Bioware games, I felt like I was ambushed in saying daft things that are very hamfisted ways of setting me up for a lecture.  It was like OK I get it gee whiz, excuuuuuuse me for not knowing what an "Aqunathalak" (spelling??) was, I'm a sheltered Free Marches noble trapped in a circle tower all my life, don't have a PHD in (PC-ified) Qunari culture studies.

I made a post elsewhere about being surprised by the Dorian conversation option of "What do you mean you enjoy the company of men?"  Really?  Would you really not know?  It's just...idk, OBVIOUSLY meant to be a "teaching moment."  I would've preferred it to be more artful and subtle, not because "omg it's being shoved down my throat," but just from a "I like to see better writing than that" perspective.

Well I didn't mention anything about the Bible but since you ask, yes.  Food that was considered "unclean" under Old Testament law has been considered "clean" since Peter's vision from God recorded in Acts 10.

Question: Did anyone who is actively calling homosexual romances "unnatural" play a non-human and romance a human character? Or a human and romance a non-human?
