I got 1 hit killed from full health as an assassin in the same game by archers that did this. Is this intended or are they just using a skill which i haven't discovered yet?
Why is it that when archers suddenly run away from you, then turn and shoot for massive damage?

I've been wondering this for a while.
My katari has 1055 health, and even with half a bar of guard and full health that attack has one-hit me many times. Highest hit ive seen so far from it has been 1185 (threatening). Ridiculous that the archers dodge attack hits twice as hard as DC's uppercut of death.

happened to me recently as well. Maybe they have a skill called "short shot" that is the opposite of the skill that we have for the archer granting massive bonus damage within 2m.

Assuming use of player abilities, that sounds like Long Shot.
It does 200% damage and gets 600% bonus damage at 15 meters or further away from the target.

Thats a heavily modified version of longshot then. Includes a dodge, and reduces the distance required to 2m for 600%+ bonus damage.
Isnt it enough that they already have the numbers game on us? Why do they need to have better abilities than as well.

15 meters is probably already a lie because game engines never get distances very good but yeah, it could be a modified ability or something completely new.
They appear to have a decent number of unused abilities in the game files.

I don't think this sort of thing can be intentional. Its just way too powerful. No other attack except the demon commanders ambush can 1 hit kill you on threatening, and that does half the damage of this one.

This wouldn't made sense though. Full draw hits for significantly less damage, and the in game stats show that it should deal a lot more damage than long shot.

This has happened to me often, two shots will do in a full health, full barrier tank player. It's like the old sheild gate in MEMP, one shot to take down all shields another to take down all health.

I was just in a perilous game, and a friend got one shot for 33,000 damage, yes thirty three thousand
Surely that's not right?!

The funniest part is it requires the aggroed teammate to be nearby for it to trigger, so another valid reason to run full ranged team.

This happens to me with full HP on Threatening, and I wear a 10% Ranged Defense belt. As Katari.

Never got a definitive answer when I asked on reddit weeks ago.
But from playing more, I'm starting to think that either there's a decimal error with the damage on that evasion shot, or that damage got switched with Full Draw -- getting hit by the kneel down shot is small potatoes compared to that move.

Definitely not Long Shot, as this is only within a few meters.
Here is a clip from a Routine run. It does 1140 damage and comes out at a 90 degree angle from where the archer is aiming for the one hit kill.

Lol, oh man.
How did it work out that archers are the most dangerous enemy at every range? Its a bit silly.

Yep thats the one.
1000+ damage on routine is a joke. There is no way that is intended.

Ye somethings bugged, i noticed in the singleplayer forum a guy said that when he fought some low level archers around the same level as them he didnt take that much damage, but when he fought those same archers again which were at the same level (though he was level 20 this time on his character) he got 1 shot killed.
So yea, sounds like somethings wrong.
But really i feel bad talking about it cause theirs just hundreds of bugs and i get the feeling most of them will never be fixed.

Well, that's not any archery ability I can think of unless they have insane modifiers for something like Full Draw.

I suspect they might be able to retain a full draw (the glowy arrow) when they do the evade. Well it's the only explanation I can make up. Or maybe the damage calculation goes like: Evasive shot - oh wait here is an unresolved glowy arrow - let's add this in somehow.

I don't think so. I just got one-shotted after an archer evaded my Katari right at the beginning of a fight.
I guess it's possible that it began the full draw before canceling into the dodge? I don't think so though.

This is probably the main reason why melee characters are so squishy in DAMP.

Those cheating NPC's have aimbots letting them pull off 180 no scopes! Someone call the moderator!
But seriously though; can someone actually make it so I'm not getting one shotted the instant an archer looks at me cross.

Just a guess - I saw them a couple of times charging up the shot, then evade, then hitting like a freight train.

Working as intended.
It's your fault by playing melee characters. They are useless, before u can walk like a snail to enemy it is already dead by 1 archer longshot or mage thunder. Just BioWare wanted to make them even more unplayable (this random parrying of 30 kg hammer...).
Also seems like mostly Katari-players have this kind of situations...
