This just happened to me again (Threatening).
Got hit with a kneeling shot / glowy arrow that did 200 damage. Chased the archer, who scurries away after the second hit then shoots me for 800 damage.

Hits for 1400+ on perilous even with a bunch of ranged defense :/
Happens to me all the time. Op side step then kneel and shoot red arrow. Think it's their full draw?I got 1 hit killed from full health as an assassin in the same game by archers that did this. Is this intended or are they just using a skill which i haven't discovered yet?
15 meters is probably already a lie because game engines never get distances very good but yeah, it could be a modified ability or something completely new.
They appear to have a decent number of unused abilities in the game files.
Is it possible to browse the file multiplayer.sb like we did with coalesced.ini in me3? Or are you looking somewhere else?

My beef at times with archers and some other enemies in general is how aggro is handled. I have a tank player moving slowly trying to block and build guard. an archer gets agro 1st so all of the enemies totally ignore me as I walk towards them, the second I go out of guard mode and attack everyone and their dog attacks me and i'm down.

The information is stored in the creatures.sb file but it is possible to view some of the data right now.
It looks like the archers get abilities referenced in the files as Evade, Snipe, and Volley.
My guess is that Snipe is actually Long Shot as it's also listed under Rogue's Archery abilities, Long Shot itself isn't listed anywhere, and the mechanic of "more damage further away" fits even if the numbers don't line up to be identical to our version.
Still trying to find the actual numbers for these abilities.
At least the peoples elbow could be countered somewhat by the 6 ops packs we got and it only happened in melee range.
To be fair, archers only do their evade shot when whoever is damaging them is at melee range. And yeah there's definitely something wrong with the damage evade shot does, although not as dramatic as some folks mentioned here. I tested it yesterday on threatening with some buddies and here's what I got: Level 12 Legionnaire with both turn the bolt and turn the blade and all shots were from the front- vanilla shot hits for 15-18, full draw- 22-25, evade shot 195-220. Working as intended.
Go figure.
I swear it's a bug with shots not registering due to the animation being cancelled from running away from you. They get cancelled 2 or 3 times, but they don't register until that final hit, and you're dealt all the damage in 1 hit.
Something is definitely not working properly.
Its official now, they can 1-hit my katari at full health and guard. Just took a 1345.

Gah this is so annoying every time it happens I think of this post. The deadliest attack in the game imo, at least the demon commander's attack is more avoidable
Bravo BioWare for making melee characters such a blast to play as.
I can definitely say that something is wrong here. I'm on my third Arcane Warrior, and before approximately level 10, I am consistently being one-shotted by archers in Routine missions.
Now, what I cannot say is whether this is due to me not having enough barrier generation at that level or something else, because I only play the AW (because I love ancient elf lore not to WTFBBQ multiplayer).
