I just reached Skyhold last night on a run currently at approximately 26 hours (freakin' epic, by the way) and was just wondering - based on your own experiences - what sort of total play time you think I might be looking at if I maintain this 'rate'?

Loving the game so far.  DW Rogue is awesome fun.

I took about 80 hours and left some of the sidequests/zones unfinished. Did all the companion quests though.

Depends on what you do really...

I'd say the game takes around 70/80 hours on normal .

I've seen some completionist playthroughs on nightmare clock in at 120hrs+. Depending on your difficulty level and your patience for exploring, you could easily do the same.

By reaching skyhold, you're still less than half way done, story wise. You've got plenty more in store for you.

Thanks for that.  Yeah, just wondering how far through the critical path I was.  I have plenty of patience for exploring!

I'm at the final mission with 1 zone left mostly incomplete and 1 new quest in another zone. Besides that, war table missions pending and a few things like mosaic pieces, etc. I'm sitting at 102 hours. All other zones are pretty much finished and cleaned out save for that damn Oasis zone (stupid shards up in high places!)

YMMV But myself just doing the "main plot line" and a few companion quests it too me 76 hours, and I left a lot on the table so to speak (Mainly for different replay scenarios and wanting to see the ending XD)

I took about 55 hours, but I didn't get anywhere near finishing everything. I just wanted to see the rest of the main story play out before going back.

Reaching Skyhold I would say is about 1/3 of the way through the main story.

I reached Skyhold at about 30 hours? And finished the game at 80. If you keep at roughly the same pace and explore a lot but not like a madman, you can hit 70 pretty easily.

You can buy power points from Ferris for 136 gold each.  Since none of the side zones change anything in the game and aren't referenced at all in end game slides, etc, if you do story only zones and some of hinterlands to get a head start on money, etc, you can beat the game in less than 20 hours.  At the rate you are at now, you'll prob be in the 70 to 90 range though.

I got to Skyhold after 24 hours, finished the game after 96. I did most of the quest, but certainly not all and I've only killed two dragons

Seeing how much got put on the table after reaching Skyhold, I can completely understand that.

83 hours on Normal for me.  Most of the quests were knocked out and I killed all the dragons.  :)

Speed envy....I still have a significant number of quests to do.

I've only seen one dragon up close so far (Hinterlands) and I noped the hell outta there (on normal, but my party had just been put through the fade rift grinder for which I was probably 3 levels below where I needed to be).

I wasn't trying to hurry either.  :P

And yeah, go say hi to that dragon again when you hit about level 13 or so.  I found it easier after you get to Skyhold.  If you want dragon slaying tips, please ask around.  There is a lot of varied and sound strategies that some of the posters have come up with.  ;)

Or you can say hi to that dragon when you're level 20 like I did, when I had only one main plot mission to go and I suddenly thought 'oh right, there were dragons in this game... i should probabbly go kill me some' :D

I am very much a completionist and I got to Skyhold at about 35 hour mark on my first playthrough.    At about 120 hours, I went ahead and finished the main quest story without finishing up the rest of the game first.    Still had half of Emprise and ALL of Hissing Wastes to explore.   So I probably could have easily hit the 150-180 hour mark.

However, at that point my desire to try a game with a new class was overwhelming and I figured by leaving a lot of content at the end of the game would highly motivate me to complete a new playthrough right away.

it's hard for me to guage my actual gameplay time accurately, as i tend to leave the game running in the background while i take breaks.

All of this is entirely subjective. It depends on how you play. Right now on my current playthrough I am just over 80 hours in and I am not even half-way through the game. I also enjoy reading and exploring everything and that eats up a lot of time right there. So, while all these numbers can be thrown at you the real answer is, "It depends".

I hit skyhold at about 20ish hours, and I finished the game in 86 hours. In that time, I missed a couple of companion quests, killed 3 dragons, and didn't even unlock three zones at all.

The "Inquisitor's Path" is about the same length, all total, as most recent Bioware games, but it's very satisfying.

Just take your time. Don't gun for the end. I got the game on release and only just finished it this past sunday. Don't rush things! It's a very good experience.

I reached Skyhold after about 22-23 hours and finished the game in just over 92 hours, though I did skip some content (most of Hissing Wastes and a few quests in other zones).

I had about 80 hours (I think) before I finished the game as a non completionist. When I worked out how many quests remained based on Solas' wall painting that's when I stopped doing the story.
