One thing I really miss about Origins was the level playing field that us and the AI were on.
All enemies were classes, the same as us, who had access to similar weapons and armour, and identical abilities to us (plus special abilities if they were monsters). We'd run into mages able to cast advanced spells like chain lightning, warriors using their special liabilities, and it really felt like we were playing on a level field with the same rules available to each other. Obviously special enemies like Revenants and Dragons and Ogres had awesome special abilities which made them feel even tougher, but the basic enemies like the Hurlocks and Genlocks could use the same skills as us.
In Inquisition, this changed. There's trash enemies who are easy to defeat, then bigger enemies with big shields and large hammers and beam weapons who require special tactics to defeat. Then there's the mages who have floating books for some reason and can't cast the same spells as we can.
In my opinion this makes the combat feel unfair. Our foes should be able to have the same set of 8 skills available to them as we do and not rely on massive gimmicky shields, and big knockdown hammers, and weird beam weapons. Why don't we get these things to use, and why can't they use the same skills as us? It create a massive disconnect.
Just my $0.02. What are your thoughts?
