What folder is ME 2 looking for to find ME 1 saves? Mine are not showing up.

Play the first game and look to see if you can use a character as ME+. If your character is not showing up as a ME+. Load the last save you had with that character beat the game again. And then load Me2 Enjoy :)

"My documents -->Bioware-->Saved games"... @work, so this comes from memory. Is somewhere in the bioware folder.. You'll find it if you have ME1 saves...

Make sure your saves are on the HDD. Check to see if you can do a ME+ if so then it should be fine.

OK, I figured this out.

Start the game. Click on Configure. Then on the left click on Save Games then on Copy Mass Effect 1 Save Games and select the folder they are stored in.

Oh, you don't get any kind of indication on that screen that the games copied over but they do.

Ok for some reason I can't start a new game plus with my characters from ME 1 even though ive beaten the game many times before and was able to begin a new game +before.
But I recently cleared my xbox 360 cache a few weeks ago, could that be the problem as to why I can't begin a new game plus in ME 1 or import any characters into ME 2?

Quite posibly. Try starting a new career in ME1, and if you do not have the 'select existing ID' option, then you have no saves to import into ME2.

In that case, load up a career in ME1, load your autosave 1/2 way through the Saren fight, finish the game again, and then re-check. Do this for any careers you want to carry over to re-create the end game save.

Yeah it seems my endgame saves are gone because the "select existing ID" option doesns't show up. Guess i'll try the method you mentioned. But still i wonder what happened to my end game saves, could possibly clearing up my xbox cache cause them to be deleted, anyone know?

If you have the PC version Configure should be right under Play on the screen that comes up when you first put your CD in or click on the shortcut to start the game.

I'm having the same problem as the OP, the one who got it fixed. I'm running the Steam version of ME1 & 2. Any idea where my save files would be?
