That is wacked.... (you tricky artful Bioware)... if it turns out to be so. But do we really need to wait 3 years?:/

So, if I get this right this would mean that ... ahem...they have basic story-threads they keep in game? Instead of, well, just throwing everything over board and adding a translucent kid at the end ? (damn, I am still SO glad Kieran never got transparent and told me pseudo-philosophical BS at the end!!! Thank the Maker!)
Guess they have some corner-stones for how the "Dragon Age" will play out, and this maybe one of them, Solas and Flemeth...good...NOW HOW DOES IT CONTINUE, BIOWARE??

So...this is the indoctrination theory all over again with Shepard, right?
b/c if they were magnificent bastards so much, how come everything ELSE feels so light?
or are we seeing something we hope is true to make up for all the lack that exists?
/call me a hater all ya want, just asking.
Oh dearest god, not this again. The IT was a desperate attempt to reconcile a genuinely poorly-created ending (I didn't have issues with it so much the first time I ended, but I did after I replayed the ending and discovered they were essentially all the same) with the inane belief that the writers of the game couldn't possibly have dropped the ball.
This isn't the same thing at all. This is just an interesting comparison between two images that may or may not be related. This is just for fun, not because the game leaves anyone wrung out emotionally, and desperately clinging to the idea that there has to be more to it.

Albeit I did see someone point out that the altar where we brought Flemeth back in DA2 was the Altar of Mythal.
And then there's her conversation with Merrill:
Flemeth: One of the People, I see. One so young and bright. Do you know who I am beyond that title?
Merrill: I know only a little
Flemeth: Then stand: the People bend their knee too quickly.

This might be just a coincidence.
But if it's not... hot damn. Dat planning.
Albeit I did see someone point out that the altar where we brought Flemeth back in DA2 was the Altar of Mythal. hmmm...
I mean they did put in the Sandal thing in DA2 so they obviously had a lot of it planned out. Wouldn't be surprised if there are more things like this in DA2

Was there ever just coincidence in BW´s games? Ever?
I like the thought it is Mythal and Solas and after this:
... Check out the idol in the Dragon Age Keep trailer for you decisions: THE THIRD PERSON'S LEFT ARM IS CUT OFF
...even more... (great catch!)
But it could be also Andraste - Shartan - Maferath in flames.
I´ll borrow one line from Brigadoom which is very accurate for BW´s universum: It is happening now, it has happened before, it will surely happen again... So take your pick ![]()
As for the crown / tiara thing - it is not so common headwear, it is a Chantry thing because of Andraste - and Mythal. What a coincidence! ![]()

I suppose this isn't the right time to note humans tend to see patterns where there are none, right?

...and because humans make art, artists make patterns for their audience to see because human beings are such good pattern-makers and pattern-spotters. ![]()
One of my favourites comes from Harry Potter. A broken vanishing cabinet is mentioned offhandedly into book one, and Harry hides in one in book two...and they're mentioned once more in passing before they become all-important in book six. It's a Chekov's gun thing, and in stories with a mystery element (or at least surprising plot twists) it's always best to set them up well in advance and spring them when people aren't expecting it.
Going back over older games, it's impossible not to note the little seeds laid for the reveals in DAI - like how you bring Flemeth back over the altar of Mythal in DA2, or how her grimoire has the leafless tree that's Mythal's symbol and which already exists as Dalish markings in DA). Way back in the Stolen Throne - written concurrently with DAO and published 6 months before DAO came out - the Dalish served Flemeth in the Korcari Wilds, and Felemeth used trees to attack people. So the Flemeth/Mythal thing has been planned for ages.
With this latest example, the trailer that's being pointed to was made with DAI in mind, and the Trespasser ending was likely sketched out in broad detail while DAI was being written, so the fact that one figure is missing an arm is likely intentional. Can anyone tell if the original DA2 model for an idol was missing an arm?

If you look at the black-and-white shots above, you can see that the third figure is indeed missing the left arm.
This is...all sorts of intriguing.
Sorry for the double post.

Given that there was an original intention of establishing Hawke as a Shepard-type fixed protagonist whom Cassandra seeks out to lead the Inquisition, it makes sense that the most crucial elements of their story had been thought through before and then appropriately placed in either game.
At least I like to believe that.

Check out the idol in the Dragon Age Keep trailer for you decisions: THE THIRD PERSON'S LEFT ARM IS CUT OFF
I wonder if this is just a coincidence or... if not, wow. I am very excited.

Oh I'm sure it was. Solas being revealed as the Dread Wolf in the credits is a hint enough, but in some of the earlier gameplay demos, they loaded saves, and you could see the save screen. There were 2 zones we'd never heard of: The Frostback Pass, and the Nahashin Marshes. The Frostback Pass was probably either renamed "The Frostbacks" (Haven) or became the The Frostback Basin.
The Nahashin Marshes, however, is more interesting. If you pay attention, you'll note that the first eluvian area in Trespasser with the elvhen buildings is almost certainly the Nahashin Marshes, since the bow you find in the Dread Wolf puzzle box says it was lost in a box in the Nahashin Marshes. In addition to this, there is that concept art of something that never made it into the game, and yet they refused to explain what it depicted.

That looks like a vague idea of the Elvhen Citadel or one of the surrounding buildings to me. The general landscape matches, and there are broken bridges. So with that in mind (but not only that), I think Trespasser was originally going to be part of the base game, but was cut pretty early since they could never finish it in time. That may also be one of the reasons the original game's ending was a bit anti-climactic - It wasn't supposed to end there, not really.
Random thoughts and guesses! ![]()
