When I create new armor, I start by duplicating existing armor files and then changing the stats.   None of the armor has a fatigue stat when I put them on a Companion (newly added) or the GW.

Am I doing something wrong with the armor and there is a gda that I need to add that will generate the fatigue? Or a setting that I've missed?

Do I just lack patience and the fatigue stat will show up after the GW/Companion goes somewhere and I save again?

Did I forget to add a setting to the Companion?

This isn't a game breaker by any stretch of the imagination, but I would like 'fatigue' to work correctly.

Are you changing the material the armor is made from? It has two settings in the toolset, one for material and one for material progression. That is the only thing I can think of...

IIRC, the only way to give armour the reduced fatigue stat is via an item set bonus. /rusty modding skills and possibly useless information

Does she mean reduced fatigue or a +fatigue stat? like heavier armor causes more fatigue?? clothing has no fatigue, but the heavier the armor the more it tires you out to wear it :D

Ah, I think you are right, Luna... I believe you are correct, the material + the armour class should be establishing the amount of fatigue automagically... no idea why it wouldn't be WAI. (I misunderstood the question and thought it was about mitigation, not generation. *facepalm*)

No new materials, no new models, just using the existing armor and creating a new item set.  For reasons unknown, the fatigue is always zero.

I was going to give reduced fatigue through the item set, but had to change that when I found out that fatigue wasn't being calculated!

Regardless of the armor (light, medium, heavy, massive) and material - it is always 0% fatigue.  I was hoping for an easy answer, but knew that wasn't likely to happen! ;)

Maybe because it is a new item set? I don't know how to create a new armor set. But I'll bet it has something to do with the material... Maybe it is not registering as all metal or dragon bone (whatever you set the material to). ??

So, you create the armor in the toolset using an existing armor variant ... add properties and save/export as another newly named item? but the material properties are not showing up in the game?

Are there other properties to change, like "item is unique" etc...?

The lack of fatigue was an issue before I created the item set - when it was just a new piece of armor

The item is set to 'iron' and then automatically levels to the Companions level.   It depends on the companion whether it is steel or veridium at the time they are recruited. (note: this works correctly for original DAO companions).

I duplicate an existing piece of armor and then change the attributes and item set (item set bonuses are working)

The material properties show up in the game and the armor will 'level'.

Does it still happen if you un-equip and then re-equip the armor?

Let me clarify on one point - the vanilla Companions wearing vanilla armors have fatigue calculated.

It still happens if equipped/unequipped.

I'm not going to mark this topic as 'solved' because it isn't .... exactly.

I have multiple virtual instances of the Windows OS on my desktop with Dragon Age installed.  My 'development' environment which has the toolset installed still has the problem.  My 'test' environment which doesn't have the toolset installed has the % fatigue working perfectly   I have no idea what is causing the difference between the two, but I DO have some of the 'fixpack' type mods installed in my test environment.

I'm leaving this topic 'not solved' in case someone comes up with an explanation!

Hard to say without knowing what lurks in the depths of both Override folders. Have you tried removing/uninstalling all mods on the test setup and seeing if it breaks?

There are also runes in Awakening that give your armor reduced fatigue-Endurance maybe? -5% for each rune, not sure if it will let you reduce below 0% or not.
