Whats your guys thoughts on this?
For me I personally hate this feature with a passion, I am a level 19 Elf Warrior and the best armor I can wear is formal attire due to the fact all the rest of the gear I get such as tier 3 is locked for either humans or dwarves, I just don't understand why these are in place it really gets to me. The only Armor I can wear to look"unique and different" is rogue but even that is stupid, I am a warrior I want to look like a warrior and I want to look like other warriors I don't want to wear a "heavy" armor that looks like a set of robes with some scale on the arms.
I am so angry with this feature its like they are trying to force races into classes "oh you want to look like a warrior HAHAHA You must play as a human cause we have locked all the gear for them" Its so stupid and is my biggest hate with this game at the moment.
Lemmie know what you guys think of this am I being too dramatic? Should the first schematic be the only schematic I should be able to wear? Let me know what you think.
Thanks

Some of them, I understand like Vitaars and Dalish Keeper Robes etc., but others just do not make sense. I'm playing a Qunari mage and I'm pretty sure Qunari get the shaft when it comes to unique looking armor/ robes.

Yeah you guys do no doubt more than elves as warriors, Ive just found that there is "one" elf trained warrior schematic, Ive been using the gear I got at like level 4 and just making upgraded versions of it constantly plus it looks like a set of robes, seriously kills the game for me I love dragon age but I just can't get invested in my character when I look the same for 20 levels

Same...I wouldn't mind Race specific armors if only we have tons of armor diversity and better customization...
I started as a Qunari and was higly disappointed with lack of armor diversity, all armor is restricted to Qunari except Customizable one...Qunari didn't even have their own Race restricted armor except for Vitaar...and about this Vitaar...I think it should be a Body Paint(not chest slot ofc) instead and we should have some Qunari specific armors so we can see Vitaar painting on our body...remember Qunari in DA2? They didn't have Vitaar on their face but they have badass Vitaar paintings on their bodies and they have helmets as well.
I just don't understand why these are in place it really gets to me.
Devs run out of time(yes they are, they confirmed it), so there is no armor diversity and no models for ex. Human armor for Qunari, Elf, etc ...probably that's is the reason or they simply thought that such Restrictions will motivate you to play again but with other Races.
...a bit of offtop

Race restrictions affect Qunari the most. In fact, in all aspects, from racial bonus to lore relevancy, Qunari are simply left aside. There is no Qunari in DAI other than Iron Bull and the Inquisitor (in case the player decides to be one).
Elves do get some Unique armors, but none for Warriors as far as I am aware.
I like the way the non-restrict armor look overall, it is just the lack of alternate skins that is a problem for me.
Edit: You can use Dales Loden Cloth to remove the restriction on Elven Mage armor (loot drop by killing the Highland Ravager, the highest level Dragon) and Snofleur Skin to remove the restriction on Dalish Rogue armor (purchasable from the Hissing Wastes Dog merchant).
I don't remember exactly where to get Dales Loden Cloth though they should be abundant late game; Snofleur Skin is widely available on the frozen lake in Emprise du Lion, north from the first campsite.
