Maker's breath! Ser Barris! He could smite me all day! Holy or not. And I get what you're saying, but in the flip side all of the s+s, KISA types have been white guys, so it's a funny situation either way. Like I said, it wouldn't really bother me, so long as we get a dark skinned man somewhere in the companions too. Maybe even a dwarf or elf. Haha

Dwarf KISA!  Dwarf KISA!

This is my new rally cry!

It is as hilarious as people complaining about Cullen not being bi.

The complaints are that they intended him to be bisexual and then cut it at a late stage. That's not same thing as complaining that a straight character isn't bisexual. It seems like a lot of people are completely ignoring the basis of this thread.

He isn't just any KISA... He's an M&S...
No. I'm. No. I'm going to stop there. I need to have a lie down *falls over*

Edit: toned down slightly

What is M&S?? It looks like S&M... I'm scared  Still scarred from Bull's romance

He kind of makes a valid point, IMO.

What, that patching in the romaceable availability of a character  to male PCs  (who was, apparently, intended to be bisexual since DA:I's planning stages) is somehow an affront to heterosexuality as a whole?

In regards to the rest of his comment:

How dare gay people in society at large push for equality?

If he's not bisexual in the final release of the game then it was a design decision to make him that way. First drafts don't matter in the final release. Deal with it.

@Efvie: Gay guys still have two options though, same number as straight guys, so if a gay guy doesn't like either Dorian or Iron Bull then that's his problem, not the developer's. It's completely fair.

It's the same reason why it always amuses me when I see topics of straight guys complaining that they 'only' have one option in this game just because they don't like one of them - you still have two options, you not liking one (or sometimes both) is your problem. Case in point: I didn't like Morrigan in Origins, likewise I didn't like Jack or Tali in ME2, yet I still had two and three options respectively; me not liking all of them was my problem, the developers did give me choice, so I wasn't going to complain (I'm sure there were plenty of other guys who did in fact like them).

As to you wanting to open up all romances to everyone, well, I wholeheartedly disagree. Having certain restrictions gives a game more replay value and adds more variety to the characters - you shouldn't be able to get anyone and/or everyone. If you want to be able to do that play a game like the Sims or a dating simulator instead.

Eh, I think it's a little less clear than that. Basically the only thing anyone has is Greg Ellis talking. There are no animations and very little context. And it couldn't have been cut all that late if there are no animations. It's not like they decided to cut it two weeks before it went gold. I'm not even sure "cut content" is accurate, now that I think about it, if the only content is VO. Cullen's romance was a late addition anyway, and they used the resources where they could.

They should push for equality. Its only fair. Black people did it, and they got it. There's no reason gay people shouldn't.

And when I said he makes a valid point, I meant that SOME people would be up in arms and ready to go Keyboard Warrior mode for making someone who was previously homosexual heterosexual, but wouldn't bat an eye and would be supportive if a heterosexual character was made into a homosexual.

There's as much choice for straight guys as there is for gay guys. How is that not equality? You really complain about petty things.

Ahaha, I had that thought in the back of my head that somebody wouldn't know.
It's a supermarket (albeit a mildly expensive one) which has infamously seductive TV ads.

Has there been an actual official confirmation from Bioware or are we just going off of 30sec of found dialog and someone's tweet that is no longer employed with the company?

I can imagine the game dev's considering all possibilities, possibly having their voice actors record some dialog "just in case" and then finally making the decision based on how they wanted to proceed with each character. Obviously characters like Dorian were pretty final from the start...and I wouldn't want it any other way. I love Dorian just the way he is, bless his little Tevinter heart.

It was a lack of time decision.

That's not the point though. The point is that patching in Cullen's bisexuality that was originally planned on being there is not an attack on heterosexuality.

Wow.  I don't know if I've ever agreed with BartDude52 before.  Is it a full moon?

But yeah, I agree with you on this.  I don't think that the two m/m options for gay guys are bad at all.  There are two of them and they are both companions (which I don't care about, but I know it's apparently a selling point for some).  I didn't like Anders OR Fenris and I couldn't stand Zevran.  But I still counted them as options.  Options ranging from meh to ugh, but still options.

I actually think that's the point a lot of people are trying to make. There is equal representation. There are the same number of romance options. This thread may be about Cullen but it's not indicative of a lack of equality.
