Chocolate cake? With French dressing?
I'm torn between saying You Monster or Ugh.
Why not both? ![]()

Okay, I'm honestly curious about something. If someone had found dialogue that suggested a bisexual Blackwall and created a thread asking Bioware to restore that content, would it be getting nearly the attention the Cullen content is getting? And if not, why not? Is it partly because Cullen has been in the DA universe longer along with maybe other stuff I don't understand?
They already said that the decision was already made and it's not gonna happen.
We may disagree on a lot of points, but I assure you I only go after words and not the poster. That being said, I completely agree here. ![]()

Ok, but there's still validity for the thread. For one, it started before that was stated. Secondly, it's a good way for people to offer their feedback on what this means and how they'd prefer it be handled in the future, as well as just convey their general reaction. There's no point in silencing discussion because it's not going to yield perfect results. Shrug.
And I also agree here. ![]()
Fun part about reading this thread: I've noticed that many sides of this debate have excellent points.

I still don't get what we disagree on since you people misinterpreted me in the first place, but okay
.
*sips coffee*
Ah, good stuff.
No, I'm not making fun of you. I just woke up, I'm sicker than hell, so I am sipping coffee.

I'm not "you people," so please don't do that. You can call me Nat or Nata or Natashina, but not "you people." ![]()
If you're sick you really should be drinking water. After the coffee, if you like, but please don't neglect water.
I'm getting hydrated. My wonderful husband is taking care of me. Thanks for being concerned though. <hugs>

Yeah, I'm actually pleasantly surprised at how all this is going down with both sides.
I don't see the smugness in my post, so if it's there, I apologize, but all I was trying to do was illustrate how having many characters sharing one trait does not mean a work of fiction is pandering to consumers who share that trait as well. Nowhere am I accusing you of anything. But that's not the case and be smug all you like, the LBGT representation is still a subject most writers in gaming tiptoe around. Also, you're still under impression that I think all LBGT inclusion is pandering so you clearly haven't read my post.
I think there's no point trying to reason. I should just return to my old ways of being smug and condescending about everything because that's the only thing that flies in these forums.
I thought that way too until I saw the posts about how he was intended to be bisexual in the beginning. I still don't really see that though, since it's not the final product.
If he was intended to be Bi in the beginning he should have been seen flirting the same way the female Surana and Amell did.
I'm not "you people," so please don't do that. You can call me Nat or Nata or Natashina, but not "you people." I don't believe in blanketing groups like that, and I wouldn't do it to you either.
By "you people" I mean the ones who interpreted "I want complex and respectful writing instead of one sided shallow token characters" with "you just don't want LBGT characters".
It's a simple point that I've been trying to express for the past two hours, lol. Maybe cause english isn't my first language and it takes me 20 words when 2 should be enough.
Anyway, no hard feelings, I didn't intend to offend or upset anyone.

Because of that info, making Cullen a Bi by any third party stuffs will break dragon age lore.
Now its established who wants to discuss the restore the Bisexual Solas? no one? good

Yeah, just like Kaidan...oh wait...
actually the token character is krem, he is there just for being there, no real reason for his existence in the history.

Probably not. Cullen has shown a different kind of personality than the other bisexual romances so far. I've also seen KISA (Knight In Shining Armor) mentioned in this thread so I figure that's something they find appealing in a bisexual (in this case m/m) romance.
But I am straight, so what do I know? ![]()
Why not make everyone bisexual again like they did in DA2 and then complain about how 'unnatural' and 'unrealistic' it feels to be able to romance ALL yo companions and advisors?
..
If he was intended to be Bi in the beginning he should have been seen flirting the same way the female Surana and Amell did.
Well he's writer changed and he wasn't supposed to be much of romance in DAO, just random character who would be forgotten.
Also.. Anders and Kaidan ^^ Maybe he was just into female Amell or Surana. Maybe he didn't have come out of the closet at the time, maybe he realised later on his life that he's bi. People aren't always simple and characters even less so.

Hey, no worries. My best friend is a Russian immigrant to the US. He's lived here for over 25 years, but sometimes still has troubles with his slang and such. He'll struggle even now to get the right words out in the right tone.
One thing about conversations like this: It tends to make people passionate, no matter where you stand. Throw in the stress that a lot of folks are feeling due to the holiday season and there can be a lot of misunderstandings that can happen on all sides.
I know I can get passionate and at times aggressive, but I try to remember a basic fact. We're all gamers, and DA fans. I apologize to you if I made you feel like I dismissed or misunderstood your point. ![]()
Yes ma'am, Natashina ma'am.I'm not "you people," so please don't do that. You can call me Nat or Nata or Natashina, but not "you people."

Yes ma'am, Natashina ma'am.
You make me laugh hun.
Don't worry, I'm not Vivienne (even though that bit of banter was priceless.)
Nice avatar change, by the way. I may need to hit you up sometime for character creation ideas.
Oh this is totally ser Barris from the templar mission.

Ah, okay. I've only made it through the game once, and I'm playing a mage this time. Even though she's pro-Circle, she isn't going to pick the templars. I'll remember that for a future session though. He's cute, for sure.

Yeah, in these types of conversations people react more to their own projection of what they expect the other person to mean rather than reading the words themselves. Kinda makes the discussion seem pointless. It's more about "1 upping" the other person rather than working towards a constructive result. That's the internet for ya ![]()

I believe you also meet him, kind of, during the first visit to Val Royeaux
